Si quieres esconderte en algún lugar lejos de todo, sin señal en el teléfono, ni nada que pueda distraerte del descanso y la tranquilidad entonces el lugar para ti es Chuao. Para llegar debes viajar hasta Maracay, la capital del estado Aragua, en Venezuela, desde allí darás vueltas en las montañas del Parque Nacional Henri Pittier para llegar al pueblo de Choroní, y en el puerto encontrarás las lanchas o peñeros que te llevarán hasta Chuao.

If you want to hide somewhere far from everything, without signal on the phone, or anything that can distract you from rest and tranquility, then the place for you is Chuao. To get there you must travel to Maracay, the capital of the Aragua state, in Venezuela, from there you will go around in the mountains of the Henri Pittier National Park to reach the town of Choroní, and in the port you will find the boats or “peñeros” that will take you to Chuao.

El viaje en lancha varía entre 30 y 45 minutos dependiendo del mar, es un recorrido hermoso a mar abierto, bordeando algunas playas de las costas de Aragua. Te recomiendo tener reguardadas en bolsas plásticas tus pertenencias para evitar que se mojen y procura hacer este viaje en la mañana, para estar en Chuao antes del mediodía y que todo sea más sencillo. Sabrás que llegaste al abrirse ante ti un paisaje de playa en el que verás una hermosa montaña.

The boat trip varies between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the sea, it is a beautiful journey to the open sea, bordering some beaches on the coasts of Aragua. I recommend having your belongings stored in plastic bags to prevent them from getting wet and try to make this trip in the morning, to be in Chuao before noon making everything is easier. You will know that you arrived when a beach landscape opened up before you where you will see a beautiful mountain.

Si quieres que este viaje te renueve y te cargue de buenas vibras quédate varios días, así podrás disfrutar la tranquilidad de la playa, los sabores del pueblo, la aventura del río, las fiestas y la diversión de la gente de Chuao. Al llegar puedes decidir hospedarte en la posada del pueblo, pero a mí me gusta y a mi bolsillo también quedarme en carpa en la orilla de la playa cerca de algunos de los restaurantes. Si tu opción es la segunda, te recomiendo acercarte y busca amigos allí, para que te informen de todo, te recomienden buenos guías y te aparten las primeras empanadas en las mañanas.

If you want this trip to renew you and fill you with good vibes, stay several days, so you can enjoy the tranquility of the beach, the flavors of the town, the river adventure, the parties and the fun of the people of Chuao. Upon arrival you can decide to stay at the village hotel,but both me and my pocket we like to stay in a tent on the shore of the beach near some of the restaurants. If your option is the second, I recommend you to come and find friends there, so they can inform you of everything, recommend good guides and save you the first “empanadas” in the morning.

Y listo ahora puedes dedicarte a ir del mar a la hamaca, de la hamaca a un plato de comida recién hecho y repetir. Cuando hayas descansado varios días, es momento de considerar hacer el recorrido hasta Chorrerón, una cascada que se terminara de llevar toda la tensión de tu cuerpo que el mar no había podido llevarse hasta ese momento. Luego de nadar en el río puedes aprovechar y pasear por el pueblo, conocer el patio de secado de semillas de cacao, la iglesia, casas y por supuesto, ahora que estás libre de todas tus posibles preocupaciones, podrás comer todo el chocolate y dulces con chocolate, hechos con el mejor cacao del mundo mundial y ser completamente feliz. Recuerda volver a la playa con la luz del sol.

And that’s all, now you can dedicate yourself to go from the sea to the hammock, from the hammock to a plate of freshly made food and repeat. Seguramente unos días después de tu llegada te invitarán a una fiesta para celebrar en el pueblo, acércate y disfruta de bailes y trajes típicos de Chuao, escucha y baila tambor, celebra y disfruta sin excesos, para que puedas levantarte en la mañana al día siguiente mientras todos duermen la resaca, bañarte en el mar cuando aún no hay nadie en él y el sol es tibio. En fin, si estás dispuesto a hacer un paréntesis y ser feliz en el Caribe ven a Chuao, es de esos sitios que te hace preguntarte si de verdad tienes que irte y te imaginas dejarlo todo para vivir en la playa.

Surely a few days after your arrival you will be invited to a party to celebrate in the town, come and enjoy typical Chuao costumes and dances, listen and dance “tambor”, celebrate and enjoy without excesses, so you can get up in the morning the next day while everyone sleeps the hangover, bathe in the sea when there is still nobody in it and the sun is warm. Anyway, if you are willing to take a break and be happy in the Caribbean, come to Chuao, it is one of those places that makes you wonder if you really have to go and imagine leaving everything to live on the beach.

Hi @yessgutierrez. Beautiful scenery in Chauo. And to get there, we will have to travel through a National Park. How wonderful. All the sights and places I like. And the beach at sunset. I love the water, waterfalls, and of course festivals. The mural is striking. This would be a very relaxing vacation for me near the water. I know all the Terminal staff would love to visit. But no phone!
