Open the business, imo.
Run it until your hodl equals what you are making daily working the business.
You can try the tortured writer/starving artist route, but I'd suggest it is overrated.
If you have responsibilities, you know that.
If you don't, well, feel free to enjoy the ride, instead.

There was a time in my life that the poor writer life was okay with me; even appealing. I wish I could say that's still the case, but I enjoy comfort too much. My Daughter and I love to eat out often, and doing so acts as bonding time for us and a reason to get out of the house.
