RE: Love is not enough

I agree. Love is such an overused term too. Ask a variety of people and you will get a bunch of different definitions for it. It can be a broad "umbrella" term as well. One might say that all of the points you mentioned are aspects of love. All of those aspects are important to the success of a relationship.

And tolerance by another name is acceptance. How far do we allow our acceptance to reach with another person? How much are we even able to give ourselves? Can we give more acceptance than we give ourselves? I don't think so.

For that matter, can we respect someone else more than we are able to respect ourselves? I don't think so.

And so, I would propose adding another point to your list: self-love, using it in the broader, umbrella term, where we have first come to respect ourselves, trust ourselves, understand ourselves, accept ourselves, and listen to ourselves - deeply without bypassing our feelings.

Excellent post. Thank you for sharing your truth. 💗

@aprils hmm self-love,that is also another great topic that i would be talking about soon,i think self-love is underrated by so many people,to give out love genuinely you must first of all love yourself...

Exactly. First things...first.
