RE: We're all POB Curators

What does it mean to be a "Whale" and why do you care?

I think the whales do a lot for the community. They have huge stakes, meaning they have a lot of faith in the project.

They help to evenly distribute the token on the blockchain, basically ensuring everyone benefits from the blockchain.

I do not care much about being a whale, it is a lot of work and I am going to stick with you under "reasonable stake". I just want to engage, learn, give back to the community and just do my bit.

I do not want to contradict your opinion but remember that they are human therefore they can fail and although I have not seen much here, I have noticed in other tribes that a pretty face and two breasts and blonde hair helps a lot to an upvote.

I can't say much about this but from your perspective you are saying they don't make quality post, but get upvotes because they are pretty.

Now I've not noticed that or even try to notice, but I think what makes for a quality post is somewhat subjective, so being pretty may not be reason they get the upvote you see

This is not necessarily true. Just because somebody has a large stake doesn't mean the default intention is a good one. It's important to keep an eye on those with larger stakes since they have considerable influence and power.

They help to evenly distribute the token on the blockchain, basically ensuring everyone benefits from the blockchain.

Evenly is not possible, but somewhat "fair" can be a goal. Even is a little bit vague and it doesn't really fit into the concept of Proof of Brain since no one person is the same (talking about human beings, not bots), and there are different social factors that have a part to play also.

I just want to engage, learn, give back to the community and just do my bit.

This is what it's all about. Just have fun and do your thing, it doesn't have to be any more serious than that. +10 POB because even though your answer lacked some understanding, it's obvious you don't really care all that much about the whale matter and you're just here to be part of the community, lol (correct me if I'm wrong of course).

I am relatively new, so I could be wrong. Do you mind explaining the other motives a "whale" could have?

you're just here to be part of the community, lol (correct me if I'm wrong of course).

This is all I am about, being a whale don't really mean that much to me.

+10 POB

Thank you!!!

That's a lesson that is best learned on your own, it's not a straightforward black and white answer. Much like good intentions aren't either.

Oh I understand. I'll look out for it and see for myself. Thank you!
