Hi All, as you have probably guessed by now I am a big believer in cross-community engagement. One of the things I love about POB is that it can be so open about what can be posted and discussed. It also attracts people from a range of different areas and communities, a real melting pot which is great!
So in the interest of trying out something new I am going to try to introduce a different community/tribe and give a little intro on what they are and how you could start engaging with the community. This may go down like a lead balloon, but hey if we don't try we cant learn.

Ok so about this community, it is all about black and white photography! The really great thing is they are very welcoming and supporative of all levels of skill and some of the photos you can see are amazing! Plus generous with the upvotes ;) Really do take some time to look at some of the photographs, they are really stunning!
I found the style/format is to post a couple of photos (black and white of course!) and write a little bit about them, why you took the shoot or where it was taken. Does not have to be a lot but it nice to give a bit of input about it. It's also important to write that it is your own shot, what you shot it on (i.e Samsung phone) and edited in. It can be really easy to set this up in a template.
So get out there and take some photos on your phone! Write a blog and post, it's really a lot of fun and gets you into a different head space!
Things not to do:
- Single image posts, or any other type of low effort content
- Full color images
- Not using original content.
- Cross posting.
There is also a fun weekly contest called the monomad challenge. The prize is a nice upvote and it's pretty easy to enter. Post some black and white images in the black and white community, make sure they are at least 50% black and white! Make sure the title says monomad somewhere and use the tag monomand and ... your done :)
