Unless you think that muting the abusers in your favourite tribe is the smart way to increase its value at expense of others, you should do an entire chain a favour and downvote.
The worst scenario is you get ignored. Your fingers should be crossed for being retaliated to as that wins you reputation (not the number - the respect of the silent majority and the big names alike) which is the top longterm investment to make on Hive.

Muting abusers will work for me, but won't make the problem go away as their abusive posts will still be visible in the community for the rest of the members. Leofinance could do that, but their strategy is let the community take care of it, that's why we have downvotes. I'm using the option, but my stake is not high enough to deal with everyone and I'm not the community cleaner either.
Retaliation happens, but those who are retaliating are new with no stake at all, so they can't hurt me.
However, keeping this community clean should be in everyone's interest and should be a collective effort.
