A few days ago, there was a Twitter user and also some people on discord who gave me an idea to create a POB Photography community or #POB-photography tag on the POB platform. Then I tried to imagine this idea, and my brain actually told me that this is a great idea to bring a quality post about photography on the POB platform. And I will also try to think about the idea of making a contest in the POB Photography community.
I'm sure many curators at POB also like posts about photography. For example, @onealfa who also likes photography. But he never told me that he liked posts about Photography, I'm just guessing...lol...so I'm trying to make this proposal on POB to see how the community responds to this idea.
Yeah, although at first I didn't want to make this proposal. What is the reason I don't want to make this proposal? Yeah, because I don't have much ammo to give curation. But after a few days, I tried to get up the courage to write this proposal. Because I think if the community likes this idea, then @proofofbrainio will also help to provide curation. Or he will help follow my curation trail, so I can give curation at the POB Photography community.
So I see every community in hive has rules. For example, the rules in the "writing community" like this : They will give upvotes for posts that make posts about words of wisdom and motivation. And they will give downvotes if there are authors who do plagiarism. Nah! As well as in the POB photography community which also has rules, and I have been thinking about the rules in POB photography which I will write about below.
Rules for getting upvotes in POB photography
- You must post your own photo, this is the most important.
- Minimum writing words on your post is 300 words to get upvotes. I made this rule, so as not to abuse voting power because it gives upvotes for posts that only write a few words.
- I will give upvote for every account that makes a quality post about photography once a week. I made this rule, so as not to abuse voting power because it gives upvotes for the same account every day.
- I will check carefully each of their posts on POB photography before I give upvote.
Rules for getting downvotes on POB photography
- For downvote rules as in general, they will get a downvote if they post pictures on Google or take other people's pictures.
- If I find the account of someone who posted an image on Google or someone else's image. I will bring their post link to discord, to ask the curator to downvote the post.
BTW, can the rules above be changed later? Yeah sure, if indeed the rules will be better for POB photography and POB platforms.
I had written this proposal a few days ago, but I just ventured to publish this proposal now. And I'm not sure if the community likes this proposal, but I'd like to see what the community has to say about this proposal. So don't hesitate to give your comments about this proposal. Btw I've never written a proposal before, and I don't know what I'm writing is also a proposal. xD
I am totally sold on this proposal. Though I don't post much photos I really like to see them all around. Hope this will help beautiful ladies to come to the platform :P
I really like content about photography, and most of my votes are for good photographs with a cool story. I support your idea and hope the project works.
It will work. I have no doubt. Geez I feel a little excited about it too. It's not even my idea.
Lol good to see you're excited too, and don't worry about that. You and @aiuna will be part of the team on this project if it works later xD
Thanks aiuna I'm glad you like the that idea. And I hope this project will work, I want to see more community comments on this proposal later when I wake up.
This is maybe the only rule I would dare to criticize.
Why does a GOOD photo really needs a 300 word bla-bla-bla?
After all, we are talking here about the "Photography community", right?
Well, if some minimum is needed (yes, probably it is), I would not want to be forced to write more than 150-200 words.
All in all, in general, I like the idea.
Count on my regular support.
I agree. I'm not a writer, I'm a photographer. That's why I often post my photos in the "Picture a day" community.
A picture tells more than a thousand words.
But a minimal description of what's in the photo should be done.
I would say exactly that!
You've got a point. Maybe a word-limit is excessive in an approach driven to encourage quality images. I do love a good explanation though as to why something motivates someone.
I wouldn't curate for less information than you provide though. There's solid engagement in your image posts and that is also motivating for curation. Additionally, you do take the time to include stats on the type of equipment you're using.
I like criticism from anyone, because criticism will bring change. I made a rule of 300 words, because I don't want anyone to later say that I'm curating for those who post images just write a few words. And as I said above, that the rules can be changed at any time, as long as it will have a good impact.
Yeah, maybe there's some truth to what you say. That we are talking about "Photography community" maybe
300 words is probably too much. So maybe we can change it to 150-200 words.
And we don't have to force them to write 300 words, it's just that if they post not according to the rules they won't get upvotes. But other curators can upvote the post even if they post not according to the rules in "POB Photography", as long as they don't upvote for plagiarized posts.
I am glad to see your words. I think this idea will work with there have your support. :)
How's the support going for the project? How much funding do you need?
As I said on the #pob-discussion channel on discord. I said there that to run this project does not require funds, I just want @POB to support this project by following my curation trail. And I want to invest my time in this project, not because I want to make a advantage by running this project. But I just want to help the growth of the POB platform.🙂
But now I losing spirits to for this idea. But maybe if @onealfa still likes this idea, I will try to help to run this project.
good way of encouraging people to participate. it is also challenging and encourage one to learn how to depend on ones work.
Your proposal solves some problems regarding image content on POB.
Do you mean images that are NOT original will receive a downvote? How would users indicate they took the image?
I think one or the other standard would be fine.
So, can people take pictures of whatever they want? What about image quality? Ah, I'm reaching at this point. I like your proposal. The proposal part would be your request for either funding or curation trail support from @proofofbrainio. It will work, man. Once you get all the kinks worked out, then you can start running contests.
I don't think you can really do this. It's a matter of trust I think.
You can check sites like Tineye to see if the image is 'stolen'.
Yeah. That's about all you could do to check.
Ah yeah, I mean the image that not original. So it's like this, if someone posts an image on POB photography that doesn't belong to him and without giving the source where he took the image, then he will get a downvote. And if someone posts an image on POB photography that doesn't belong to him, but he gives the source where he took the image, he won't get the downvote. It's just that he won't get an upvote from me, because he posted an image that is not his own.
For that I haven't thought about it, and thanks for reminding me. I think it would be better if users wrote a little about the camera they used, and location shot the pictures in their posts.
Yeah 300 words is not difficult to write, and it won't make our brain dizzy to think about 300 words in our post. xD
Yeah sure, they can take picture anything. But yeah the upvote value depends on how beautiful their picture is in their post. xD
I just need proofofbrain support to follow my curation trail later, if this idea is liked by the community. :)
I'm totally in! I've "wasted" many photos that I consider good on monomad without receiving any attention, I know that things are different here at POB, and the idea of proofofbrain photography itself is already a great idea in itself. Success for the project!
Ah thanks dude for liking this idea, I made a POB photography proposal aimed at bringing added value to the POB platform.
BTW I have created a POB Photography community. But it's not working yet, because I had to contact @proofofbrainio on discord to ask him for support. And later if the project is going to work, I'll make a post to let the community know about the that project. :)
And yeah if you don't mind, I'll make you a MOD in that community. :)
The idea is really lovely, and it'd help this community to grow better in various niche @memeisfun
Nice one!!!
Photography is always a good idea 😀
The #photography tag is always the one I open first on Proofofbrain and I upvote a lot of these posts.
I post quite some photography posts myself, but always in different communities like "Picture a day", "Feathered friends", "Photography(-DAC)" etc. with the #proofofbrain tag so it also shows up here. So I do ask myself what the added value of a specific #POB-photography tag will be.
By the way; Your mentioning a discord. Is there a POB discord server?
For now I can't say what the added value of this idea is, but maybe I will be able to say that when the POB photography community has started.
Yes you can join discord here
Thanks for sharing the discord link. I already joined.
I'll keep an eye on the new tag.
I liked
But answer me one thing! @memeisfun
What kind of photos are we talking about? Any style?
For example I like taking pictures of nature, places I visit and trails I do.
Would they serve to post?
You are free to take picture whatever you want, and you are free to write anything about the picture you shoot. For example, if you take a photo of nature, you can tell us a little about your trip or tell us the location you have visited, whatever it is. :)
I loved!
Perfect

Great, I think @edystringz would be really excited about this, she's a great photographer.
I love your concept, it'll be beautiful to see the photographer bring his picture to life.. I'm certainly looking forward to it, it'll give room for more engagements.
What If we put the image source of the photos we posted?
If gives the source where took the image, won't get the downvote. It's just that he won't get an upvote, because he posted an image that is not his own.
Then how will we create image when we are not a graphic designer
At least we can post image with a source
May be you can ask for a screenshot of the image being in the camera roll, that will surely define any plagiarism coming out of it.
Photography is a cool content. There are some communities in hive that work on photography. I will be happy if there is a slot of hashtag for photography in POB.
80th I strongly agree with you on this mate
Your ideal photography contest of #POB sounds great, and i will really love to be part of it. But That 300 words of writing i think that's a bit much.
Your idea to creat a good pob photography in this community was the wonderful one and may God give you more grace to do better than this.
@memeisfun, in principle I like the idea as long as it is quite strict that this is only for the original poster's own work.
Second, rather than have a "300 words" clause, why not make the requirement a little more subjective like "poster must explain why they chose to take this photo AND why they thought it turned out well enough to warrant sharing with the community."
Presumably, the intent is to maintain the integrity of quality content in the community. So tell us that you actually thought about what you were doing rather than just try to harvest rewards with an endless series of photos of a half-eaten taco.
=^..^=
Congratulations @memeisfun! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
