It only happens when I'm not talking to someone or when I'm not doing something that requires my attention, meaning any idle time is a trigger for this. Unless I am focusing my attention on an activity, I can be attracted to intense daydreams.
This seems like a normal activity for a creative person. Try using a timer when doing projects and please take a break and get up for a minute or two.
Also record your day dreams in a way that is convenient. After a few days look at the results and see if you can draw any conclusions.
