POB photocontest: Subject: FOOD

in Proof of Brain3 years ago (edited)

Ok, uh, well this is a hard one for me.

One of the things i like more than photography is food. Because of that i have a lot of troubles with models in this genre of photography. All kind of things happen, even a complete disappearing.
So to succeed in this i have to think and act fast.

By the time i write this, my model is gone, but i did capture some photos, and i hope you like them.

Models name: "Pirotska peglana kobasica" or "Pirot ironed sausage"
Date of birth: Winter 2020.
Complete disappearance: Friday December 3. 2021.

"Pirot ironed sausage"is made with the meat of sheep, goats, and cows. While the ratio of different types of meat has never been defined, pork is never used. Sausage is flavored with a combination of different spices, and even though they are a secret, it is known that garlic and crushed chili pepper are used.

"Pirot" is a town in eastern Serbia where this kind of sausage is only made.

The people of Pirot take great pride in their ironed sausages and claim that the use of different types of meat was a result of different situations in every household before winter.

This is a last winter model and it is here to remind me that is time to get some freshly made ones. It looks like it is time to visit Pirot.

After unpacking, you need to peel of outer layer of sausage, and start cutting. Goal is to cut 1,5 mm thin slices in anyway you want. Traditional cut is short one, but i like modern longer cuts.
