So this is somewhat a part 2 to my previous entry. I'm not sure why, but my camera was drawn to the smaller fungi kingdom this trip. Even the girls got into helping me find some. Check it out.
I couldn't tell you what half of those mushrooms and fungi are called. I do know, that they are all cute little wonders of nature. Almost like dirt flowers or something. The colors are what impress me the most. Do you think fairies have a special kind of paint? Well if you don't or if you do, be sure to REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even while ogre stomping through Smurf village.

The yellow/orange ones are chanterelles a nice edible one of my favorite summer mushrooms.
In the first two photos?
Yeah first two, the key to identifying is easy, their color and their gills are veiny kind of running down the stems.

If you can see the color and gill pattern are correct then you are good to go in collecting them. I usually collect a bunch then pinch off the dirty part of the stem then soak them in salt water and dry them out before cooking like a normal mushroom. They also work great on pizza or in gravies.
I find that if you see a couple there will be quite a few in the area usually growing in under weeds or in thick shrubbery.
Fungi, joy and smiles. Fairies, pretty sure they have their color, must be something close to Magenta :D
