Today is March 7, 2025, without realizing it, we have entered the third month of this year. The hot weather in this month has begun to be felt, meaning that no mushrooms will grow in the summer if I am not diligent in hunting in the rainy season, last December. The sun is very hot during the day, let alone hunting mushrooms, I don't even feel like going out to buy household necessities, that's the picture of this year's summer that can be illustrated.
In this post I will show mushrooms that I have stocked up on for the past few months. One of them is bird's nest mushrooms. In the tropical forest area on the island of Sumatra, my birthplace, it is a gift to be able to see and enjoy the beauty of these mushrooms. Sometimes when we find them in the rainy season, these mushrooms look so easy to get that we become indifferent when photographing them. In fact, today, when the rainy season is far from the earth, everything becomes dry, the soil, trees, flowers wither, that's when we feel how priceless these bird's nest mushrooms are.
Next is the Entoloma mushroom or some people call it pinkgills mushroom. This mushroom grows under the shade of forest trees, damp and almost wet soil. Maybe right now if I go back to that place, where I got it, maybe it's gone. The lifespan of a mushroom is not long, if it's the Entoloma type, it only lasts two or three days. That's if the sunlight doesn't penetrate the dense leaves, shading the forest land. And what's left now are memories, documenting Entoloma that is still standing tall.
The journey exploring the forest hunting for mushrooms in the rainy season yesterday has almost passed three months. I don't know when I will have the opportunity to hunt mushrooms again, it seems like the dry season will take a long time. The mushrooms that I show are a blessing from the rainy season which is full of memories. The dry season is filling the days that are sultry, hot and have their own taste. Thank you
