FungiFriday #12

in FungiFriday3 years ago

Hello friends,

Happy #FungiFriday to all of you.

This Friday, I will share with you the usual edible winter mushrooms that can be found in my area. Unfortunately, all the specimens from the photos were overripe and dried.

Auricularia auricula-judae (wood ear)

This is a parasitic species that grows on old branches or dying trees. It is most often found on deciduous trees such as buckthorn, maple, elm, or acacia. This type is usually used dried, or grounded into powder, as an addition to soups and dishes.

Oyster mushroom

It is a very common mushroom that I find on poplar stumps or willow trees. It is a good source of protein, minerals, and vitamins C and B.

Flammulina velutipes

It grows singly or in clusters throughout the winter. When picking this mushroom, it is necessary to pay special attention because it looks similar to deadly galerina.
