RE: Fungi Friday in the Driftless

The common name is white jelly fungi, the latin name is Ductifera pululahuana. Technically its edible but it has no taste and the texture falls apart when cooking so it's not choice edible. The only thing I could think of this being useful for is some kind of emulsifier maybe. If you could figure out how to use it in a oreo cookie or some mass produced sort of product it could become a cash crop.

Man, I really think you should write a book - your perspective on foraging is quite a bit different than most foraging books

Most the books only list the best edibles though there are actually many more edible mushrooms out there that aren't quite considered choice edible lol. I may try and make a chip material out of this white jelly roll. In theory you can just load a ton of spices into it, blend it into a mash and then dehydrate it. If it turns out crispy and not bendy like a chip it could be a good use for it since I find lots of it around here.
