Day with the Mushrooms: From Blushing Rosettes to Grey Knights

in FungiFriday3 months ago (edited)

After a few days of thunderstorms and rain, it seemed that when Friday came, the sun shone brightly, making me excited to go on fungi hunt for this beautiful @fungifriday by @ewkaw and to all my fungi friends here.

On my way to the forest, this white mushroom appeared on the grassy path.

When I looked closer, it had orange speckles.

It was exuding orange liquid.

This mushroom is called a blushing rosette. It is a pretty rare fungus that can appear in different forms. I am pleased to have seen it, and I will check it out in a few days to see what it looks like.

As I went further, I saw these little ones peeping out of the grass. They are pleated inkcaps.

I was about to take a good shot when an excited dog ran toward me and trampled on the mushrooms.

They got damaged but are still pretty.

I took the chance to photograph the gills on the dock leaf.

Some ink, very fragile mushrooms.

Then, by the stream lower down the main ground, I jumped down to take photos of the weeping widow mushrooms

Almost gone, nibbled up!

As if this mushroom wants to fly!

Baby weeping widow, with broken stem, ouch!

As I walked further and stopped by the pond, I spotted this group of mushrooms on the edge.

It was tricky to take the front photo, and I nearly dropped my phone.

I can't see the underside, possibly blushing bracket.

They are pretty by the water.

A giant dragonfly kept coming near me, making me jump a few times! I managed to include it in my shot.

I went home, and I thought that was it for FungiFriday, but then I saw these lung oyster grow back, unfortunately mostly eaten, and they had helped themselves before me.

Then, a group of grey knight mushrooms grew in our herb planter.

I thought the soil must have had some pine shavings, as they only grow by the Scotch pine.

They are edible and have been traditionally eaten in the UK, but recently, they found a chemical in them that could harm the kidneys if eaten in large quantities.

They are growing so superficially that they fall when I touch them.

Beautiful gills

With babies. I love their grey color.

This one is so cute!

That ended my FungiFriday; hope you all had a good one!

And to make you smile, here's my homemade amanita muscaria.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.
