All systems are go and the plans are coming together, we have a solid 12 definite attendees with more possible. But of course in the face of Covid 19 global pandemic it is understandable many people do not wish to be moving around. To make this an acessible event for everyone who wishes to join in I am working on the following:-
Discord Live Chat Hang Out's
This is a Hive event and we will be focusing on bringing together users and onboarding new ones - to enable this I will have two "guest mode" MacBooks running so attendees can log into their accounts and demonstrate. We will also use them to do Discord Live chat's between our physical meet up members and anyone online that wishes to voice chat. We have Voice Chat in the Brit's discord, I'm a member of many servers so we can surf around and see which ones have active people who wish to discuss Hive on voice.
I definitely want to grab some time in the FullAlt discord to discuss their range of plug ins to quickly share online content on Hive, and give away Hive Tips on Twitter and YouTube. I know @jackmiller can talk us all through how it works, so fingers crossed he is free during the daytime of the 19th September.
Livestream Baby
If you can't be at an even what better then watch it unfold in a Live Stream - it's another thing for my tired old brain to work out but hopefully I will get a PC hooked up with a decent web cam for streaming, and work out how to set up a server to run the stream - so anyone can watch live what we are eating and drinking, and of course discussing. I'm going to do my best to get this to work because it will bring the event to the people who would have liked to come and could not.
Meet up access fund
I had this idea of making a community fund to support people who could not afford to make events, I'm pretty sure it's beyond my time and ability to fully work out for this meet up - but it remains a potential for future events wherever they are in the UK.

Thanks to the advice of @livinguktaiwan and @shanibeer I am working with Witness @arcange to make a @hivebuzz badge for all UK Hive Meet Ups - once it is set up the badge can be applied to any Hive account that attends a UK meet up. I know that in London we have had many active meet ups attended by @steevc, @nathanmars and others. plus @shanibeer has arranged many events in Leicester and @slobberchops has attended many events. The UK is a really active Hive community, and adding a @hivebuzz badge will allow us to show the rest of the Hive community just how active we are.

If we truly want to raise more public awareness about hive we need to show that ordinary everyday people can use these blockchains.

The audience on Dtube Hive etc is small at the moment and I do get some support but I'm also getting several 100'000's of views on YouTube annually so in practical terms that is the best place to be talking about web 3 and hive eventually.
I do have a playlist of crypto related videos on YouTube that I have made and they get virtually zero engagement.
People in general are just not interested in the whole concept.
I think it scares them?
The thought of actually having to be responsible for their own money? Freaks them out.

Time is passing way too fast for my liking, thank you so much for the @tipu. I can bore you all day about running Witness servers, in fact we can log into mine and you can see the processes running and how the file system looks. Once HF24 drops running a Witness will be far more accessible, RAM requirements are going to be halved making the hardware needed considerably less costly.

Leeds is far enough away from Halifax to not be relevant, even when Local Lockdowns are on they mostly apply to meeting people outside your family circle in your own home and garden - plus I have more then enough space to keep people 3m plus apart so I am not expecting any problems.

I'm going to deffo try join the live chat, as for livestreaming you could very well do it through discord along side the live chat. That way you got an all in one solution of sorts.
I was hoping to find a live stream that people could easily view on a website, still working on the idea.
The easiest places would likely be either twitch or youtube, Or maybe even go with facebook streaming. You could always embed the player into a website made specifically for the meet as well.

I am pretty sure I have the biggest range of origins of most speciality roasters in the UK, to be honest it's a nightmare trying to handle 23+ different origins and roast styles - but it's choice I would rather people sample tastes from around the world instead of saying I have one coffee and that's the one you can buy!
I have some coffee to use up, but then I will sort out an order. It's just me drinking it in our house, so it lasts a while. My other half is looking at coffee subscriptions as a gift for a colleague, so I put her onto you.
I may look at getting an Aeropress some time. I hear they are good.
Aeropress is awesome, I use at home and work daily. I also just got the new Aeropress Go in stock which is more compact ideal for travelling - just need to list when I get chance.
