Trying Chawa Keopi for the first time

20220104_232113_0000.png

I've been craving some ice-cold coffee from Starbucks or Bo's Coffee but we don't have those franchises in our town. I could only get that if I can visit the City which is 3 hours away from our town.

Day two when I arrived in the province I and my best friend been talking about where to get a great ice-cold or frappe coffee.
She already mentioned the name of the coffee shop and it is 2 blocks away from our house.

Yesterday since the weather is calm and was not raining, I invited a friend of mine to have coffee and she also suggested this place.

This is how it looks like on the inside. It has 1 long table that can accommodate 5-6 people, they have a couch as well and a table for two on the inside. If you want to stay outside they have 2 small tables that can be shared by 4 people.

It was nice seeing a lot of changes and improvements happening in our town. I remember years ago that the space where this coffee shop is built used to be a computer shop and a xerox copy shop and now after how many years someone was able to put up a coffee shop. They also offer milk tea and coolers.

As I enjoy the moment with my friend I also get the chance to speak with the staff and ask about who owned the shop. He told me that it was owned by Ms. Melanie Sacay and this place was established last February 08, 2019.
It was interesting as during that year I was able to visit my town but I haven't heard about this place. According to my friend that this place is not that famous when they are just starting but not until the pandemic hit. Since most of the people are staying inside the owner advertises their business on Facebook and offers delivery. Since it was summer when the pandemic started around March people are craving cold drinks whether it is coffee, coolers, or milk tea.

A beer in a coffee shop? Weird right? 😂
Since I was asking a question to their staff I was a bit curious why there's a beer on the counter, he said that they are also trying to add items that they can sell. So I asked if they are also trying to come up with another menu like cakes, cookies, and bread that is usually visible with coffee shops and he is kind enough to share the details. He said that it is already in the process, the owner is planning to put additional food on the menu that they can offer soon once finalized.
I hope I was able to see some changes when I get back in a few months so I can also share them with you all. 🥰

You may check their page too, maybe you can come and visit our town then you can check this place too. 💓💞

lol beer in a coffee shop was also a concept I found in a new cafe I tried a few months ago. The owner was new to the scene and didn't know what to put. But yeah, they could also do a mix of alcohol +coffee like martinipresso or some sort.

Hello @macchiata maybe this will be a trend in the future here a coffee and an alcohol mix. But I guess the owner of this shop is also making all efforts to sell items in addition to coffee and bubble tea into their store for the profit and maybe they wanted to expand. It could really happen here especially in the province. You have to think in advance to make your business afloat in the long run compared to the highly urbanized city where most of the people are drawn to food and drink establishments especially working individuals. 😊

Oh yeah, small towns and suburban are quite difficult to navigate. From my experience, they tend to like something simple and traditional.

I agree with you. I tend to like traditional as City can be crowded and noisy in most places.

Hello @explorewithsasha,
Great post!
I love the photos, and I'm happy to hear that you are ok!
It's also nice to hear that there are some improvements happening in the city.
That Tea Shop is unusual and the green walls stand out.
Thanks for stopping by to share this with us.
Happy 2022!

Hello, @millycf1976 by the way happy new year to you. 🥰
Yes, I am okay after the typhoon devastated Cebu.

Yeah, very unusual for a coffee shop to have this kind of color. I usually notice a nude or brownish background in most of the coffee shop or at least lighter color. I forgot to ask if maybe they repainted the shop but it just a right amount of space and the coffee, I should say it tastes good. I have doubts that I would like it but so far I am impressed. 😇🥰

Thank you @millycf1976, still recovering but also fighting after the typhoon. I hope you well and have a great day. 😊

Wow, you are awesome in making your post really. I love the way you arranged the post pictures and also designed your header. You must have taken so much time to it.

I don't know why I see people outside my country appreciate coffee so much. Over here, there are only little amount of people that takes coffee.

Does coffee taste differently there? And I am surprised seeing coffee pink in colour.

Hello @starstrings01, thank you so much for appreciating my blog. Right this moment it took me a long time to edit the photo since the mobile and wifi connection is not stable yet but if the connection is better it will not take 5 mins of your time. 😊

The pink one is not a coffee, it's a bubble tea. My Niece prefer bubble tea while me I prefer coffee.

I can say that coffee shops here in the Philippines are very popular. We Filipinos always love to follow trends, but we can't deny the fact that we really love coffee and we most of us can't start our day without it. 😊
