Visiting the Sigmund Thun Gorge in Salzburg

in PhotoFeed4 months ago

In the Province of Salzburg there is a nice Gorge the "Sigmund Thun Gorge" or Sigmund Thun Klamm in German. It has some really nice waterfalls and basins with very fresh and beautiful water. Stefan and I visited this place some years ago when we were on one of our trips to Mittersil. The colors of the water and the rocks is really beautiful there and depending on how the sun is coming in to the gorge you can make some really nice pictures. One thing that is a bit annoying is that there are a lot of people visiting this place and you probably will have several of them on your pictures. If you want to avoid this then the best time to visit is probably a rainy day when not so many people want to visit at least when you want to take some pictures and don't feel that you are in the way with your camera.

Since it can be pretty cold and you might get also pretty wet there the best time to visit is probably summer when it doesn't matter so much runing around with wet t-shirt and trousers. During the colder days of the year you should think of an aditional pair of jeans and an extra T-shirt or you are very carefull and try not to get wet, but then you probably miss some of the beautiful spots. I also needed a piece of cloth to clean the lens of my camera since it got sprayed by water several times.
