Lifestyle; setting a balance.

“Everything can be taken from a man, but one thing: to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstances.” ~ Victor Frankl (Concentration Camp Survivor)

You see, every one of our experiences is what has built us up to the point we are. The kind of life we live sometimes has similarities with others because we have gone through the same thing. There are times whereby you are explaining yourself to a person and the person understands you so much that it feels like you’re talking to yourself, and other times, a different person won’t even be able to comprehend your words. We all came from different backgrounds, which means our lifestyle will be different from other people’s. How you think, how you dress, and the way you solve issues will be different from others.

I’m Fashtioluwa, and I’ll be explaining some of the lifestyles I have adopted to keep my life in balance. You see, the month of April was a very tough month for me. Some of you might have had it rough too, but here we are today sharing our experiences. Last month, I had a class I was attending, I was on the lookout for a new job, my friend was getting married, which means I had to contribute also, my rent is about to expire, I had a job interview, I had a task here on Hive, and at a point, it seemed like my life was jam-packed with things that were beyond my control.

Everything was happening so fast, but here are some of the lifestyles I had adopted before that time that helped me balance my life.

  • Time management: Some times, I feel 24 hours is not even enough for me to do all I want to do in a day, but it is what it is, and studies show that the amount of time we get in a day will be getting shorter in the future. I made sure I had a schedule and followed it religiously. I wake up in the morning with my day planned out; sometimes it doesn’t go as planned, but I still follow the schedule.

  • Eating only when I’m done with my morning task: I was told “Food gives energy,” but in my case, once I eat, all my energy flys out of my body. I only eat when I have done all my morning tasks, like housework, cooking, going through my mail, writing on the hive, and other minor tasks. I do this because I have the energy to do it at that time. I mostly eat after all this is done, and yes, I prefer cooking my food.

  • Mindfulness and Reflection: This is something I do every night before I go to sleep. I go through all the tasks I was able to accomplish in a day, check for where I might have made errors, and then reflect on them. I say positive things to myself before I go to sleep and when I wake up. If I asked, “How is your day?” I would reply, “Stressful but productive.” This way, it gives me the zeal to do more for myself.

  • Setting Boundaries: A man who lacks discipline and self-control will attract so many unwanted things into his life. I have always kept these words in mind. There are times whereby I stay on the Web2 platform for a longer time, and when my consciousness pricks me to remind me of the task I’m meant to do, which I wasn’t, I stop whatever I’m doing to do the needful. Also, there are some things or people you should accept into your life; that way, you can avoid the world they call “see finish,” which is embarrassment.

These are some of the lifestyles I have adapted, which have helped me balance my life. Thanks for reading.

Food gives energy is not for everyone, some people once they all they need next is sleep. My friend does drink tea in the morning, he says it makes him sleepy.

I prefer taking coffee in the morning
It always help but once I take milo
I’ll be communing with the gods in the spirit realm 😂

These tips are quite helpful indeed especially the time management and boundary setting.

One who lacks boundary is setting himself up for abnormal intrusion. That individual becomes like a defenseless city that can fall pretty to attack at any time. The attack I mean here is the embarrassment.

Your method to achieve balance is very similar to mine, I plan before going to sleep what I'm going to do the next day, prioritizing the pending of the previous day. Unlike you I need to eat to burn calories and have strength to face the day to day.

Frankly speaking, these are lifestyles to keep one balanced in life. Life is too short to start brooding over a lot of things especially ones we have no control over. Doing things to keep us sane is the best. Never allowing any negative vibes around us.

It is what it is
Once you know you have no control over a situation, one should just device a chopping mechanism they can use until they find solution if not they would just see life as a different place to live
