Yes, it's a normal thing to feel bored but when it's becoming too much or taking longer time to deal with it, it turned to depression for someone. I also have similar mechanisms as yours too, unlike you, I watch horror or Indian movies because they keep me glued completely and making me forget I was bored some minutes before.
