Canada Vault update 090122

in Canada3 years ago (edited)

It is a new year so here is an update on @cvault a treasury for the Canada Community.

hiveleafBOTTOM2.png

Not much has happened since August 26 2021, when 1.839 HBD was moved into savings. Pending rewards 0.022 HBD & 0.041 HP have been claimed, and that 2 cents has been moved into savings.

image.png

This brings @cvault's balance to 30 HIVE, 9.307 HP & 1.943 HBD.

We have a few Hive-Engine tokens, 101.007 BEE tokens funded from the community.

Read our last update from last July, and the Request for Input.

The Goal is 5000 BEE

Then we can Launch A Fully Featured Front End
like https://leofinance.io or http://musicforlife.io
for Canadian users in all it's provinces.

We already have https://hive.blog/created/hive-154369
and can be found on https://peakd.com/c/hive-154369
or browsed on https://ecency.com/c/hive-154369 .

We are between step 2 and 3 right now. Before we create our token we need to discuss its function and prepare to raise some liquidity, for the BEE required to upgrade the token functions, for a liquidity pool, and for a Hive-Tribe Outpost enabled front end.

You are all subscribers to the Canada Community, and before we create a token our members should have the freedom to discuss what type of token we should make. I have been brainstorming a few options and I would like to get your feedback on and ideas for our community token.

The general idea

We can make a miner token called TAP, and when you stake it you'll earn SYRUP.
--Or we could just make a token you earn only by curating #canada.

I would like to see gamification.

Let's spend some time thinking about how our community could be designed, to be more than just a Hive.blog clone, but an interface for Canadians searching for new local content. Pings on the map could appear green if they are new, yellow as they get older and red when they pay out.

I would like to see the map as a game you can play daily, that tracks stats and multiple tokens. How do you imagine the Canada community could gamify? Mining SYRUP is only the beginning, we could add OIL and SILVER and BEAVER and POUTINE. There needs to be established rules and functions for gamified tokens and integrating NFTs deserves some conversation also.

This is just a rough example of how I would like to include an interactive map game. It would be good to learn some lessons from existing projects, and create our own unique interface for the Canada Community. This is where I would like to ask you for your ideas, and feel free to brainstorm. I am not settled yet and I am not in a hurry, as we have another 5000 BEE to raise. Send 50 HIVE to @cvault and if many do this then we will be able to enable Tribe/Outpost features and pools.

You can send Hive-Engine tokens like INDEX to help, or just upvote this post 100%.

Send 10 or 50 HIVE to @cvault!

Thank you to @saboin for sending 10 BEE [tx]

Total is now 111.007 BEE / 4888.993

Sort:

Call it 'TOKENEH' because it's pretty cool if we get our own token, eh.

TOQUE (token, get it!?) :D

BEAVER (get it?)

Tails....mmm sweet apple sauce and sugar....only in Florida...i mean Chinada.

@makerhacks, I sent you an $LOLZ on behalf of @marshmellowman

I would like to see it being a more friendly version of the Canada/Province/City reddits :)

It would be a shame if it became generic, so if someone, say, talks about crypto let's have it be Crypto IN CANADA (eg. "Why won't RBC let me use my Avion credit card to buy BTC")

Once the plague is over it would be really nice to have meetups, but for now some way of forging a community would be cool.

If nothing else I would like to meet more canadian TTRPG/wargame players, makers and retro gaming fans :D

I am loving the initiative-- and I would certainly jump in-- but I barely understand the tokenomics of Hive itself and the tribe structures to begin with. There was once a tool that showed each tribe's attributes (POB %, staking, interest, delegation, etc.) but now I don't even know where to learn the basics for each one.

!PIZZA

I have also been looking for that website link again recently. Those are the kinds of statistics I would like to see more of.

I think it was built and upkept by themarkymark, if I'm not mistaken... and he told me that he didn't want to keep up with the API changes anymore. It can still be built, but it's above my pay grade (aka I have no clue how to do it).

If all you need is the config info for the different tokens, I can probably throw up a website sometime this week for that. It's not very hard to get that info, so making a website should be a quick thing.

Well, that would be AMAZING! ☝️
Yeah, it had fifteen or twenty data points on each of the tribe tokens (CTP, STEM, WEED, LEO, SPORTS, etc.) that showed everything from curator and author distribution, burn, cooldown rates for unstaking and undelegating. It really was a robust tool.

Nice to be able to see configurations of tokenized communities.

It would be awesome to see. It would further be awesome to see the entry points with price for token bought...a layout like a stock portfolio but cost averaging over time on each token bought and sold. Please let me know when that site is up. Thanks.

There is a developer portal HERE, and the original tool was found HERE (for what it's worth).

i could pop off a few hive shit coins for the cause, I am trying to diversify on here and having issues so this would be well suited for me.

What about making HBCAD? Hive Backed CAD

That's why I suggested the HBD pool, I would prefer that over CAD unless it includes a way to get a bank transfer.

I made more money when I used CAD as a back door to exit. The Canadian dollar price is higher at the bottom and lower at the top because Canadians are passive aggressive, not trend setters.

sneak attack in the best way...Good eye.

I like the idea of a miner coin that are distributed to contributors at first. Then on the market for general sale. Staking makes them mine, and a long (13 cycles) to unstake. All the other miner coins tend to hold value when there is only 1,000 or so of them. Watered down MAPLE Miners does not taste good on waffles. In the same way limited miner coins makes sense from what i have seen in most other successful projects.

They could possibly be MAPLETREES that mine SYRUP that pair to BEAVER and transact in LOONIE that go south for the winter. There are a few projects out there that have similar structure.
I would like to explore more ideas on this too
Miner coin Yes please!

Ill move some coins around and throw what i can in the way of BEE to the project to help get this going.
Chinada can be great again we just can Not make a Prime Mistake like the hate speaking Turd-duuu did in all of this. So there is room for everyone’s, opinion, ideas, and ways.
Province specific questions and ways around to help the parallel society that is happening right now grow could provide a good resource to those that want options. Tips and pointers with relevant info that makes other think and laugh for the benefit of the country.

Would delegations of Hive be helpful?

Ill be going through the room and fallowing all those that are in it, to support the Canadians in whatever way I can.
Thanks for spear heading this for us all @cvault

These are great ideas and I appreciate your input. Delegations are not required this account is not primarily used for voting, but as a container to hold funds for the tokenization of the Canada Community. It will be 1000 BEE to make a pool. There are 3 tokens in this scenario though, because there will be the SOCIAL token earned through curating that we could call MAPLE. Earn and stake by posting in the Canada community or use #canada tag. MAPLE grows. This is your tree. Then we have TAP which is staked to mine SYRUP. Then the relationship between these tokens can find their own equilibrium. MAPLE can be earned and used to mint Canada NFTs, MAPLE can be sold to buy TAP or SYRUP. We should have a MAPLE/HBD pool and a SYRUP/MAPLE pool. A fixed number of TAP 10000 maybe. A halving 21m supply of MAPLE with the downvote removed like VYB. SYRUP supply only minted when mined by TAP staking. If something like ^ this is possible, maybe we can introduce Beavers, Poutine, and more. Or maybe we don't need something so complex. If we only need one token I would choose the MAPLE and would like to see it valued at a Silver oz, with a MAPLE/HBD pool. Today that pair would be 23.24 HBD = 1 MAPLE.

image.png

That sounds like a smashing idea. Perhaps simple at first makes sense with the option of growing it outwards as the community grow. The mining token economics makes the most sense to me. Provides a stem of which to grow off of. I like the MAPLE tie to HBD.

I was think about a contest to get more Canadian to join hive and help build the community. Still just kicking around the idea but some kind of membership drive.
