That's an interesting discussion on salt and sugar, besides others.
Both of them are good and both of them are bad (for some people). If you are a hypertensive people (with high blood pressure), you have to say no to added/extra salt. Similarly, if you are a diabetic, sugar is a no for you.
There is one misconception. People think if someone eats more sugar, he will turn into a diabetic. That's not the rule. If your insulin works properly, eating sugar is not a problem. However, if you become diabetic due to other factors, you can't eat sugar excessively.
