Hello everyone in the Wednesday Walk community. How are you today, hope everything is fine. I just had a horrible night when a Super Typhoon called NORU made landfall in the area where I live. I went for a walk and took some pictures, I will share with everyone about my hometown before and after Super Typhoon Noru made landfall.
A few days ago, when we received announcements on the mass media that there would be a storm called NORU hitting our area, people were very worried. Because it is located in a place that often receives tropical storms, the people in my hometown also have a lot of experience in responding to each storm.
2 days before the storm made landfall, the sky was very beautiful. I can't even see the black clouds. Nothing but a little cold. I went for a walk around and took some pictures of the sky at that time. My mother used to say: "when the storm is near if the weather is nice, the storm will be very strong". I guess that the storm is out at sea right now and it is gathering clouds to become stronger. This made me very worried.
Everyone in my family has a plan to respond to this Superstorm. We used old cement bags to put sand in and put it on the corrugated iron roof panels. In addition, some people buy large bags and add water to add weight. For the glass doors, we used rolls of tape and glued them in an X shape as instructed by the weatherman. In addition, we also fix the door with a steel wire tie. People also cut off branches of large trees to limit the greatest possible risk. After everything stabilized, we started to stay at home and live normally. We have ready-made fast food and drinking water for daily activities in case of power outages.
I couldn't sleep all night because of the anxiety about the storm. And whatever comes, has come. Around midnight, strong winds began to appear, and I could feel the storm gradually approaching the mainland. At around 2 AM the storm started to make landfall. Because it was dark, I couldn't see things outside my house, but I could still hear and see the strong winds of this storm. . They make the doors shake which makes me extremely nervous. Outside, the wind was so strong that it made sounds like a flute or a roar, it kept chirping, making me and my family very confused and scared. At times there was the sound of furniture breaking or signs flying and falling onto the street.
Just like that, we made it through a night of terror. By 6 AM, when the storm had gradually weakened, the winds were softer and we were able to get out of the house to start cleaning up the debris caused by the storm. There are a lot of leaves and trash in my yard.
My dad and I walked around the area where I was living to see how things were going, along the way we saw that some houses had been badly damaged, some trees had fallen, I took my phone to record pictures of the damage caused by the storm. The passing storm damaged a lot of things, but fortunately in the area where I live everyone is safe. The fields were flooded due to excessive rainfall. My father was worried because we might have to face floods.
The storm has passed but this is only the beginning of our hometown's stormy season. Storm season has arrived and of course, we will probably have to endure the next storms. I hope that the people of my hometown will be able to pass through this stormy season peacefully.
Thank you for reading my article. I hope to give you a little more experience in storm prevention. Have a nice day everyone and sees you in my next posts😘
I think your post is a good topic. Everyone in the world will be know the terrible damage that the storm caused in Vietnam.
Thank you for reading my post! The storm was scary but fortunately, everyone was safe after the storm😊
These events are really devastating, I can't imagine the anxiety that you and the local people have had to live, I hope that measures will be taken so that they can get through this natural event in the best way possible! The government should give them some help.
Anyway, very nice pictures you took before the storm, there is a lot of nature. 🙌🙏💯👊🤩
Oh, Thank you very much. It's lucky that everyone is safe after the storm. I hope there will be no more storms.😊
Everything will be okay after the storm gone.
It is fortunate that we do not lose too many things 😉
