Hello everyone, how are you today?
It's Wednesday again. Let's go out and explore things. As usual, today I go around and discover interesting things. Since joining the Wednesday Walk community, I've discovered there's a lot going on around me. I have my own world and there are many other people's worlds out there. Only by going outside can I enter other people's world and discover interesting things. And today I will walk you around to discover Vietnam's first elevated railway.
The first elevated railway in Vietnam is located in Hanoi. It belongs to the railway network system of Hanoi capital. It started construction in October 2011. It currently has a total length of 13.05 km with 12 elevated stations, going from Cat Linh station in Dong Da district and ending at Yen Nghia station in Ha Dong district. . It plays an important role in solving serious traffic jams in Hanoi and saving commuters' travel time. If you have ever been to Hanoi, then you will understand its importance. And I think for travelers, this railway also saves them from the dangers of crazy traffic in Vietnam. I have to admit that even though I'm a Vietnamese. 😁
It officially opened on November 6, 2021. And it was my first time to try this train and explore inside its stations. My first impression was how modern it was with its automated systems which baffled me the first time I tried it. First, from the ground, I got to the station upstairs by escalator. You can also reach the stations by stairs that connect to the streets below. Then I bought a ticket at the vending machine. Simply select the destination and pay the corresponding fare, however I was a bit confused as I didn't bring any change. But I finally managed to buy a ticket and get my change back. These tickets are used to pass through the automatic ticket gates to enter the platform. There are automatic notification systems that let commuters know when the train is coming, when to board, when to get off the train and safety reminders during travel. I think this is a very optimal train with a very high rate of automation and the fare is also quite cheap, only about $0.50 per ticket. And another thing I really like about this train is the speed. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from one station to the next with a distance that usually takes you 10 to 20 minutes depending on the time.
Okay, now walk with me to find out what's in the stations here. All the stations here have the same structural design, so you will feel very familiar at all stations. The only difference that tells you which station you are at is the color of the wall tiles. Each station has a different color of wall tiles which creates its uniform beauty. I love these tones because they are bright colors that give a feeling of excitement and dynamism. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this discovery walk today, and I hope you are too. I look forward to your walk. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a great day!
So great shots!!😄🤘

Yeah that's tropical shadows. 😁
bức cuối mê quá anh đô
Nhờ nắng đẹp em ạ! 😁
That’s interesting to see and read underground or over head stations and trains can have a huge impact to improve congestion in a city and make it so much easier to get around as seems to be the case there
With being so new everything looks so orderly and pristine quite a contrast from mass transit in other cities I have been such as NYC where I used mass transit often
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Thank you @tattoodjay
Actually if you have a chance to visit our capital, Hanoi, you will experience how crazy the traffic is, especially when you travel by motorbike. And yeah the train helped a lot to ease the situation, but just a part of the city.
I doubt I will ever make it there, my travelling long distance days are over, but having spent time in other parts of Asia and in the big cities I can imagine how crazy the traffic is
Do they plan to extend the train further in the future
Yeah the government plans to extend the train to the other parts of the city in the future, but I guess it will take time. The first 13km took 9 years to finish for some reasons.
It seems its common all around the world whenever the government is involved it always takes so long, but hopefully the extension can be done a lot quicker
I totally agree with you about this. Yeah I hope it can be done sooner. We'll see. And I hope I still have a chance to make another post to update about it too. 😁
Fingers crossed and hoping for the best
Well fingers crossed in spirit of course I cant type with my fingers crossed

Thank you @chocolatescorpi
Yeah I just visited your post.
It's crazy we share a mood of traveling by train today.
Thank you very much for your wish.
I wish you and your family a Happy New Year too!
Yes, I actually love traveling on trains too!
More so for journeying purposes, but almost as much for commuting to work daily too.
Oh that's cool. I don't have train to go to work in my city. The train is just for traveling to another city.
Oh we have both. And trams, buses and cycle paths are getting bigger too.
Oh that's cool, less boring working journey then, many options to choose. 😁
Thấy a review hấp dẫn quá, lần tới ra Hà Nội phải ghé mới được 😆
