For this Wednesday Walk Challenge hosted by @tattoodjay, follow me as I walk from Parc Lafontaine to Mont Royal street in Montreal. I'd gone out to do a bit of shopping. Last week, it was a "sad" winter in Montreal without snow. The trees have lost their leaves, the ground is frozen, even the sky is grey. It's pretty monotonous. But luckily we come across a few animals and some StreetArt to brighten up the walk 😀.
Pour ce Wednesday Walk Challenge organisé par @tattoodjay, je vous propose de me suivre lors de ma marche du Parc Lafontaine à la rue Mont Royal à Montréal. J'étais parti faire quelques courses. L'hiver à Montréal sans neige, je trouve que c'est triste. Les arbres ont perdu leur feuille, le sol est gelé, même le ciel est gris. C'est assez monotone. Mais heureusement qu'on croise quelques animaux et du StreetArt pour égayer le parcours 😀.
Here's my route for the day, from Parc La Fontaine to Mont Royal street, via the alleys just outside the park.
Voilà mon trajet du jour, du Parc La Fontaine à la rue Mont Royal en passant par les ruelles dès la sortie du Parc.

Normally at this time of year, the cross-country ski track around Parc Lafontaine is already marked out. But this year (and I think it was the same last year), you can still go jogging without too much trouble.
Normalement à cette période de l'année, la piste de ski de fond qui ceinture le Parc Lafontaine est déjà tracée. Mais cette année (et je crois que l'année précédente c'était la même chose), on peut encore faire son jogging sans trop problème.
The artificial lake has been almost emptied for the winter. Only the lower part is used as an ice rink, and that too is not yet open yet ☹️. With the tall grass and the colour of the ice oscillating between white and green, it adds a little colour to the landscape.
Le lac artificiel a été presque complétement vidé pour l'hiver. Seulement la partie basse sert de patinoire, elle non plus n'es pas encore ouverte ☹️. Mais avec les hautes herbes et la couleur de la glace oscillant entre le blanc et le vert, cela donne un peu de couleur au paysage.
The fountain in the middle of the lake looks very lonely. I hope the town hall will fix it this year. Last year it wasn't even turned on when the weather was fine. It's a shame that the Parc La Fontaine doesn't have a fountain, even though it's named after Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine, Canada's prime minister and not this fountain 😀.
La fontaine au milieu du lac semble bien seule. J'espère que la mairie va la réparer cette année. Car l'année dernière même pendant les beaux jours, elle n'a pas été activée. C'est dommage que le Parc La Fontaine n'a pad de fontaine bien que son nom vient Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine, premier ministre canadien et non de cette fontaine 😀.
The Théâtre de Verdure is of course closed. It's a shame that access to it is closed on this side of the park. You have to go all the way round to get to the other part of the park. / FR : Le Théâtre de Verdure est bien sûr fermé. Dommage que son accès soit fermé de ce côté du parc. On doit faire le tour complet pour rejoindre l'autre partie du parc.
And here's something to brighten up a walk in the Park. Squirrels are everywhere in the park, often fed by walkers. This one was disappointed because I don't feed them.Uit's bad for them and the ecosystem of the park, too many squirrels harms the squirrels from what I've heard. But they're so cute.
Et voilà qui peut égayer une marche au Parc. Les écureuils sont partout dans le parc, souvent nourris par les promeneurs. Celui là était déçu car je ne les nourris pas soit disant c'est mauvais pour eux et l'écosystème du parc, trop d'écureuils nuit aux écureuils à ce que j'ai entendu. Mais ils sont tellement mignons.
When I go out of the park, I've got into the habit, mainly because of the StreetArt, of only taking the alleys. There's always something new to discover, whether it's a little tag from Sloast with See You Showing Up or a garden gnome that's a bit sad to be out in the cold.
Quand je sors du parc, j'ai pris l'habitude surtout à cause du StreetArt de ne prendre que les ruelles. Il y a toujours quelque chose de nouveau à decouvrir soit un petit tag de Sloast avec See You Showing Up ou alors un nain de jardin un peu triste de rester dehors au froid.

To break away from the white and grey, fortunately there's StreetArt. Maybe not with the letters of Louis Letters but the garage door painted by Tshoko brings some colour. This wall is perfect for playing basketball (when it's a bit warmer). I already talked about this wall in a previous post Street Art #341.
Pour rompre avec le blanc et le gris, heureusement il y a le StreetArt. Peut être pas avec les lettres de Louis Letters mais la porte de garage peinte par Tshoko apporte de la couleur. Parfait ce mur pour jouer au basket (quand il fait un peu plus chaud). J'avais déjà parlé de ce mur dans un ancien post Street Art #341.
Backstreets aren't always decorated with quality murals. In StreetArt, there are two sides, a bit like the Force (if you're a Star Wars fan). I like both... On this wall you can see Nixon, Bibi Una and Hayeur (from bottom to top).
Les ruelles ne sont pas toujours décorées avec des murales de qualité. Dans le StreetArt, il y a deux côtés, un peu comme dans la Force (si vous êtes fan de Star Wars). J'aime les deux... Sur ce mur, on retrouve Nixon, Bibi Una et Hayeur (de bas en haut).

There was a slight lack of snow last week. But since Monday, we've had quite a bit of snow in Montreal. So much the better, prettier with a white coat.
