Hi, Hive friends! This is the continuation of the travel article I made in December 2024. The first article appeared here: Let's Time Travel to Edo Period in Kawagoe, Saitama.
It was late in the afternoon, the sky was starting to get dark. I took photos as much as possible.
I took a photo of this building that doesn't have a Japanese vibes at all. Looks like a European building. Not sure if this was a bank.
This building can be found along the Edo street of Kawagoe.
I visited a little temple so excuse me if the photos are not that attractive anymore. It was quiet and peaceful. I love the zen feeling.
Tourists were still visiting this area and took photos, as well.
I still have this fancy feeling to have a house like this.
Because I had this feeling I was a Japanese lady in another life. LOL.
Later, I found out that this is a cemetery. My cousin who is married to a Japanese, she told me not to take photos of the graves. She has a third-eye and she could sense ghosts around. Fortunately, my third-eye is not open as I don't want to see ghosts bothering my peace. Good thing, no ghosts bothered me after taking this photo but I promised myself not to take any photos anymore.
The intricate wooden carvings are so interesting.
The garden, the Japanese gardeners are really hardworking cutting circular shapes of the trees and bushes.
LOL, I saw a tree of oranges. I would love to take one but that would be considered as theft. Hahaha!
Ooops! Sorry, another photo of the cemetery but not focusing on the graves.
Another autumn leaves, such a lovely sight.
Another orange tree, I wanted to steal some. LOL.
Capturing Koi Fish in the Side Streets
I passed by this area, it looks like a lucky place to be.
And I was amazed to see this canal. Indeed, they have the cleanest canal waters with Koi fish in it. LOL, our canal waters would be dirty and muddy if this was in the Philippines. No fish could survive because people would kill and hunt these beautiful fish.
Yes, you could find this canal water on the sidewalk. The fish were really safe and they lived peacefully.
This is what I love about Japanese people. They are so respectful of everything around them.
Such a zen feeling just looking by this little area.
I continued to walk as there were some establishments that were open.
Geez, if only I had so much money, I could buy several souvenirs in this area.
I think this was the candy streets of Kawagoe, Saitama.
I've tasted this Fish Pancake in Osaka. Good for snacking.
Fresh fruits and vegetables.
Oh, I love vending machines as you can see on the left. I always buy hot chocolate in a can.
Not sure if this was a restaurant. Too bad, I never got the chance to visit each store.
But I enjoyed taking photos around.
Masks
Interesting wooden art is displayed outside of the store.
Another shop, not sure what it was but I saw some beans.
Happy to see this view on an empty street.
Renkeiji Temple Visit
It was dark already so I never took a lot of photos. But I was happy to visit and pay a little respect inside the temple.
One day is not enough to visit Kawagoe City. There are other shrines that I haven't visited due to lack of time. Indeed, it was fun and tiring but worth a visit to Kawagoe away from Tokyo.
This is my entry on the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay. Happy Wednesday!
