We stayed at the Hotel Praga in Madrid, maybe a little far from the center, but it was still a privileged location in the city between Antonio Lopez Street and the Manzanares River. That day I got up late, I was tired from the plane ride, but from noon on we started to do a lot of walking to nearby places, just for sightseeing. At nightfall we wanted more, because the next day we would change cities, so we left the tiredness in the room and took a last night walk, from the hotel to the Puerta de Toledo. It was just my wife, her best friend and me.
One of my first trips out of my country, I was very excited, so I found everything very pleasant. Every corner was special to take a picture, or to take pictures of us posing for ourselves. We didn't know how far our walk would go, but I knew I wanted to take a picture at the Puerta de Toledo. We walked leisurely, without any rush and enjoying every detail along the way, and in fact I was very pleased to catch up with one of our companions at a cantina not far from the hotel.
When we arrived at Torreones del Puente de Toledo we crossed to the right. The place was large, wide and beautiful, and I only saw it at night. It was lit with street lamps and people were walking, exercising and resting on the benches under the trees. We sat down for a few moments, but more to take pictures than to rest. We didn't know that the bridge would be very long and that it would take us a long time in this area, but it was rewarding and only healthy conversations arose at that moment.
I mention that it must also be beautiful to walk through this area in the daytime because on the sides there was a beautiful maze of bushes, I think they were pines, my friends from Madrid can correct me. Of course it must look better from very high up, but walking near them was rewarding and the perfect connection I needed between the natural and the architecture of the city. The bridge over the Manzanares River was divine to walk it, because of the weather, the lighting and the varied statues all along the way; I still don't understand how I could photograph only two of them, but I think there were too many things to appreciate at the same time, tourist stuff 😅
After crossing the Toledo Bridge we thought that the place was close, but it was not, there was still a long way to go and it was uphill, but we were not tired, this walk could continue without problems. We appreciated the obelisks and the Fountain of the Glorieta de Piramides and after visiting the garden in homage to Glorieta we finally arrived at the Puerta de Toledo, where we took pictures left and right and we were very happy. The only thing that could put an end to this walk was the urge to go to the bathroom, and the fact is that many businesses were closed because it was Easter season, so we returned to our rooms at the Hotel Praga, and we talked about this walk as if it were a good distant memory 😅 the funny thing is that just yesterday the three of us were together and we mentioned this walk again.... Just pure happiness...
Simplemente felicidad pura...

It's definitely a worthwhile tour for every detail of the city. I'd be crazy taking photos of every corner. Cheers!

Have a great day
The first thing I do when I visit a new place is to take a walk around. I enjoy it and wander around. Recently I had 5-6 hours waiting for the bus and in that time I discovered a perfect place, a castle. I will share it here soon ^^
Your trip must have been worth it, walking on this beautiful street and enjoying the scenic view. The wanders must have been satisfying. I hope to experience travelling in a place where I have never been and no one knows me.
