Hello friends, this time I join the initiative of our friend @tattoodjay to share with you my walk through one of the most visited areas of my city.
I was walking along the boulevard of San Rafael in Havana which is a very central area composed of 5 blocks traveled only by pedestrians, throughout the boulevard there are dissimilar shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, bars and parks.
One of its ends begins on the busy Galiano Street and ends on the Paseo del Prado, from where we can see the great Central Park, the Hotel Inglaterra on one side and the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater of Havana on the other.
As we move towards the Prado we can see through the streets the Capitol, which can be seen from many parts of the city, due to its majestic construction, its imposing design and architecture, but what stands out the most is its large golden dome, recently restored with that precious metal.
Right on the corner of the Hotel Inglaterra is a very peculiar sculpture, it is The Kiss by the Chinese artist Xu Hongfei, which was installed in 2019 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.
It is made of bronze and really catches the eye because it has some comedy and sensuality at the same time, as it represents a thin but muscular man carrying a very robust lady while kissing. For visitors it is always a time to take a photo of this unique sculpture as a souvenir.
And now I want to show you an iconic building of our city that houses the Grand Theater of Havana, the entire construction covers a block, it is a beautiful and imposing building for its beauty. I really like to appreciate the sculptures and the different details of its façade, right next to it is the Capitol and it is a beautiful view worth photographing for all those who pass by.
We are in the same Central Park that has so much history, here is the first sculpture made to our apostle José Martí, in his honor there are a large number of royal palms that is the national tree of Cuba. It is a very large park with large marble benches and also has leafy trees to enjoy its shade while we rest and appreciate the colonial buildings in the surroundings.
From here we see the imposing Hotel Parque Central, which is the result of a reconstruction where the façade of the colonial building that was in ruins was used, giving rise to a beautiful combination between the old and the modern.
When we walk through Havana we always see a wide variety of old cars, but especially in this area of the Central Park there are parked ones that are intended for tourists.
All the cars have very vibrant colors and are convertible to facilitate taking pictures, they leave in groups of 5 or 6 cars giving a great tour of the entire boardwalk with the view of the sea on one side and the colonial buildings on the other, they also pass through the most important places in the city.
I hope you were pleased to encounter the sculpture The Kiss while enjoying my tour of this central area of my colonial Havana.
See you soon!

That encounter with EL Beso (The Kiss) is always a pleasure for me, 😂 so I understand you, my friend. You were in a very touristy, crowded and well-known area of Havana. Classic open-top cars with their bright colours are always a sight to behold.
It's true my friend, before I didn't value the beauty that surrounded me, now as I walk I am attentive to everyday details and I always discover new things. I wish you a nice Wednesday 🤗
Imagine how many people walk around like this in this life without stopping to look at the beautiful things we have left and the things that are always there. ☺️😉 Gracias. Hoy vuelvan a pasear.
I think so too, especially the young people don't see anything, only their cell phones, it's a shame.
The photos are divine, I really enjoy the beauty of Havana so it hurts me a lot that it is not taken care of as it deserves. Thank you my dear @mayramalu for sharing. A big hug 🤗
That's right dear @osismi, there are still many parts of Havana that need to be restored, but unfortunately we no longer have our historian. A hug 🤗
