Mar del Plata is one of the most beautiful destinations in the country. The great development of the city, its extensive and beautiful waterfront and the varied gastronomic and cultural offer it offers make it one of my favorite destinations.
One of last year's long weekends we traveled for four days and took the opportunity to walk for a while along the beautiful waterfront and enjoy the air that can only be breathed by the sea.
For my taste this city is to enjoy it in low season, when it is not yet full of tourists because for the summer or long holidays it is usually full of tourists and visiting the different points becomes somewhat complicated, since the traffic usually complicates considerably the movement through the city.
Mar del Plata es uno de los destinos más lindos del país. El gran desarrollo de la ciudad, su extensa y hermosa costanera y la variada oferta gastronómica y cultural que ofrece hacen que sea uno de mis destinos preferidos.
Uno de los fin de semana largos del año pasado viajamos por cuatro días y aprovechamos para caminar un buen rato por la hermosa costanera y disfrutar de ese aire que solo se puede respirar al lado del mar.
Para mi gusto esta ciudad es para disfrutarla en temporada baja, cuando aún no está llena de turistas porque para el verano o feriados largos suele llenarse de turista y visitar los diferentes puntos se torna algo complicado, ya que cuesta el tránsito suele complicar de manera considerable el traslado por la ciudad.
I remember that on this trip we were fortunate to have very good weather, being able to make the most of beautiful walks in the city. If I remember correctly, one of the nights we went to dinner at a restaurant on the coast and there was an intense swell due to a big storm. Fortunately, by early morning the wind had calmed down, making it possible for many people to go for a walk along the immense waterfront, while others preferred to sit in front of the sea and contemplate its immensity in the middle of long chats.
We chose to walk and visit several places that I had not visited for a long time and to which I had not yet taken my daughters. One of them is the San Martin Park, which is not only very beautiful but also has very nice views of the sea and the city.
The park has very nice trails and is in slope product of the geography of the place in which predominates cliffs on the coast. It is full of beautiful flowers and full of birds that gather there especially when the weather permits.
Recuerdo que en este viaje tuvimos la suerte de tener muy buen clima, pudiendo aprovechar al máximo de hermosos paseos en la ciudad. Si mal no recuerdo una de las noches fuimos a cenar a un restaurante sobre la costa y había un intenso oleaje producto de una gran sudestada. Por suerte para las primeras horas de la mañana el viento había calmado su intensidad posibilitando que muchas personas opten por salir a caminar por la su inmensa costanera, mientras que otros prefieren sentarse frente al mar y contemplar su inmensidad en medio de largas charlas.
Nosotros optamos por caminar y recorrer varios paseos que hacía mucho tiempo no visitaba y a los cuales aún no había llevado a mis hijas. Uno de ellos es el parque San Martín, el cual además de ser muy lindo muy lindas vistas del mar y de la ciudad.
El parque tiene muy lindos senderos y está en desnivel producto de la geografía del lugar en el cual predomina acantilado en la costa. Está lleno de muy lindas flores y llenas de aves que allí se reúnen en especial cuando el clima así lo permite.
After spending a nice afternoon in this beautiful park we decided to go back to the apartment we rented to rest and recharge our batteries. Mar del Plata is a city in which one travels long distances almost without realizing it, but it is so pleasant to walk around this city that one realizes all the effort involved when sitting on a chair. That's when your feet start to hurt.
On the way back we took the opportunity to pass in front of Villa Ortiz Basualdo, a summer house of the Argentine aristocracy more than 100 years ago. Today this house was donated to the Municipality and was transformed into a museum where you can appreciate it on a guided tour.
As much effort as it implies, the city invites you to enjoy the walks, invites you not to stand still, to walk and enjoy every step you take.
Después de pasar una linda tarde es este hermoso parque decidimos volver al departamento que alquilamos para descansar y reponer energía. Mar del Plata es una ciudad en la cual uno casi sin darse cuenta recorre grandes distancias, pero es tan placentero recorrer esta ciudad que uno se da cuenta de todo el esfuerzo que implica cuando se sienta en una silla. Allí es cuando los pies comienzan a doler.
De regreso aprovechamos la oportunidad para pasar frente a la Villa Ortiz Basualdo, una casa veraniega de la aristocracia Argentina de hace más de 100 años atrás. Hoy en día esta casa fue donada al Municipio y fue transformado en un museo en el cual se pueden apreciar en una visita guiada.
Por más esfuerzo que ello implique, la ciudad invita a disfrutar de los paseos, invita a no quedarse quieto, a recorrer y disfrutar en cada paso que se da.
The next day we walked along another sector of the coast that is one of the most emblematic of the city and is the area of the Torreón del Monje, built on the rocks in Punta Piedras. Its construction is unmistakable because of its castle shape and it is undoubtedly one of the must-see destinations for anyone visiting the city.
From there you can appreciate beautiful views where the sea merges with the city.
In this area the geography of the place has been used to make streets at different levels that gives it a very particular appearance, especially at night where you can see the lights of the city.
During the day, many people gather to enjoy the sun, the sea, the fresh air and the beautiful landscape architecture.

l día siguiente paseamos por otro sector de la costa que es de los más emblemáticos de la ciudad y es la zona del Torreón del Monje, construído sobre las rocas en Punta Piedras. Su construcción es inconfundible por su forma de castillo y sin dudas es uno de los destinos obligados para conocer por todo aquel que visita la ciudad.
Desde allí se pueden apreciar hermosas vistas en donde el mar se fusiona con la ciudad.
Por esa zona se ha aprovechado la geografía del lugar para hacer calles en diferentes niveles que le da una apariencia muy particular, sobre todo por la noche donde se puede apreciar las luces de la ciudad.
Durante el día, gran cantidad de personas se reúnen para disfrutar del sol, del mar, del aire puro y de la linda arquitectura paisajista lograda.
Sin dudas Mar Del Plata nos invita a pasear, a caminar y a disfrutar de otro #wednesdaywalk de @tattoodjay

Las caminatas junto al mar son mis favoritas, una de las cosas que mas me ha gustado de Argentina es que las ciudades están pensadas para caminarlas, siempre hay un boulevard o una costanera para disfrutar. Lindas pics📷

Sin dudas podría decirte que el mar es mi lugar en el mundo y amo estar cerca de el y sentir esa brisa del mar y ese olor tan característico que allí se respira.
Yo soy del interior del país y es verdad que prácticamente todas las ciudades tienen amplios espacios para caminar y pasear, eso es muy bello. También es una realidad que otros pueblos y ciudades que no están tan desarrolladas tienen mucha menos infraestructura para disfrutar de lindos paseos.
Me alegro mucho que hayas podido recorrer parte de mi país y disfrutarlo.

Me quedé enamorada de ese magnífico lugar, siempre me ha llamado la atención Mar de Plata desde que lo vi por televisión. Si algún día voy a Argentina, sin lugar a dudas me gustaría ir allí. Sobre todo me llamó la atención la casona de corte victoriano que hoy en día es un museo, ojalá en alguna oportunidad pudieras regresar y tomar fotografías del interior, al igual que el Torreón del Monje.
