We have a good storm last night and today trees and powerlines down all over the place
I hope I am not tempting fate but we’re lucky and still have power
But I think the fall colors will be done fir the steady after this

Oh, that's bad. Hopefully the luck will stay with you, or better the storm has moved away from you.
When I look at the already falling leaves here, you might be right that such a storm will fast forward that process.

I just looked out back tones of trees down in the cemetery behind us and one that was very colorful a few days ago is totally bare

Wow, that must have been a really strong storm - I'm glad that you were lucky and didn't have damages or worse.
And you were lucky because you have got some photos with Autumn colors because now it might be too late at many places.

I just heard from the kids one of her family is without power and can’t leave their property as a power line us down and sparking on the road by their driveway and Tons if trees blocking the road even if they could get out
They have been told a team won’t get there fir 36 hours or more

That sounds really bad. We have also had valleys cut off for days from time to time mostly because of snow and avalanches, but I myself haven't had any of such experiences yet. Hopefully they have enough to eat and drink and the rescue team will get to them earlier.

I think they have a small generator to run the lights and fridge
