Yeah there were many different kinds of fern species in the forest. I probably hiked a good 10 miles that day, there are even camping spots for backpackers who want to stay in the wilderness for a few days.
Wow that’s a good hike and cool there are spots to camp overnight
They have little places to hang up your food so the bears don't raid the campground.
Well sure wouldnt want Bears visiting LOL
So far I haven't seen any up there, the only place I ran into bears was in Arizona numerous times. They showed this at the main visitor center before going into the wilderness.
I have bene lucky never have run into a Bear, but years ago on exercise in Malaysia I did get uncomfortably close to a tiger, lucky it wasnt interested in us and it moved on
Yikes tigers are way worse for killing humans. For a while there in Arizona there were a few maulings a year from bears because people were feeding them. But that stopped after people realized they were getting too used to humans and look at us as a food dispenser.
