Wednesday Walk A walk in the woods at Hamlin Crossing
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
For this weeks walk, I visited a small trail managed by the Buzzards bay Coalition called Hamlin crossing in Acushnet MA
The last time iIvisited it this field had been cleared at some stage and the grass wild vegetation was very low, it was quite different on this visit

As this next shot shows the vegetation as fairly high, I will be honest I wasn't sure about taking a stroll through it, as the morning before I walked another trail that was similar
A little bit about Hamlin crossing, and the bugs were out in force, they usually do not bite me but that had a field day that morning and I got bit all over my arms and face, but maybe the bugs don't like the middle of the day when I walked at Hamlin Crossing, although I saw lots of bees, not bugs were biting me thankfully
Hamlin Crossing’s trail is about 0.3 miles long, over uneven terrain that’s mostly covered by leaves and pine needles. Watch your step for protruding tree roots as well as muddy patches, especially around the wetlands. (Download trail map)
The short trail begins with a loop through the wildflower meadow beside the barn. Take your time in the meadow to look for native species like Indian grass, red fescue, and black-eyed Susans that have been encouraged to return to this space, which was formerly overgrown with invasive plants and vines. On the far right side of the meadow, you’ll find a small wetland where tall grasses and cattails grow. Follow the bog boards to your left to enter the main trail through the woods.

it was a lot greener here than other parts in the area which was nice to see mind you to be honest I did boost the greens a bit in editing, maybe because so much in this area is so brown with so little rain

After I walked the short trail through the woods I switch to my macro lens and walked back and forth catching bees and such but those shots will be for another post

Even on a small trail like this which seeing the trail is easy that had a few signs out, but as I said the other time I visited here the vegetation and perhaps then the trail signs were more needed

Perhaps why this area is green is it is marshy in parts hence the wood in spots on the trail

This week I am sending to the following who joined Wednesday Walk, for this week I did a random draw and the following each received some Hive @hindavi, @rem-steem, @rosanna-brava, @zul212, @beeber and @fatemehsohrabiii
As @elizacheng and I collaborated with our Wednesday Walk and Make me Smile Challenges
And one person is randomly drawn who joins both challenges to receive one Hive from me and this week it is @TBA
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Even though the grasses were high, luckily you didn’t get bitten to much. Better watch out with to many bugs.
I agree, the green is just so lovely… beautiful to see.
Good there are trail maps to follow and signs.
Thank you for sharing these great captures in the field and forest. Does make me crave this much green areas.

you to enjoy your day :)
I will, thanks!
Really beautiful! It looks like a wonderful place to walk. I know I have said it before, but they claim ticks are really bad this year, so you will want to watch out for that. With all of our camping I only found one on me, but I don't hike out in the woods too much. Not like I used to anyway!
Yeah I have read ticks are bad here, if I go on a trail I always check for them when I get back so far I have bene lucky :)
Hello dear friend @tattoodjay good day
It is noticeable how the vegetation has grown since the last time you visited the place, a beautiful place to take a walk
What you say is true, when the grass is high, the mosquitoes are more abundant.
Beautiful shots, I appreciate that you taught us
have a great day
Thanks for visiting :)
luckily the bugs werent out or biting when I weas there ;)
Nice Refreshing walk.
Thanks kindly your support is appreciated
Have a great day
I think it was better as you went into the woods. Seeing those lush vegetation in the beginning made me think of bugs right away.
I expected lots of bugs and not to be there long but was pleasantly surprised there were hardly any and not biting me ;)
That's a relief :D
I'm usually a victim of insects and I'm always a good meal for them, my blood makes them hungry. I wouldn't feel very motivated to walk in those places but for sure if I go, curiosity is stronger than anything.
Glad to participate again in the Wednesday walks, greetings and thank you. @tattoodjay 😉

will visit your post shortly
😁😉
You really had a great walk and nice captured with the nature. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day
and thanks for your visit and support :)
You welcome sir
Very beautiful, sometimes like in a fairy tale !
Wonderful day! Having nature and fresh air is a great place to walk and explore.
The grass grows pretty quickly in those wetlands, doesn't it? I like when they cut it as it helps dry up the water. The longer grass keeps it moist. A little less fun to take a walk through the marshes. My feet never come out dry.
You have had a fair amount of rain, but, I think the heat you have gotten MAY have balanced that out. Perhaps not.
I still love the wooded portion of your walk, especially through the forest! I hope all is going great and I cannot believe that autumn is on its way!
Thank you for such a great #WednesdayWalk~
Ohh yeah my shoes and socks where soaked through after this walk, but worth it it was so nice there that day
Ohh yeah I was amazed how much it had grown, and yes yesterday we finally got some rain, nothing heavy but steady for a few hours which we sorely needed
its funny this year the rain has often curved around us, like yesterday like I say we had steady light rain, but twenty minutes or less away that had really heavy rain and lots of flooding
Will be interesting to see how much or how little color we will get this autumn after the long dry spell
Probably less, to be honwst. Mothrr Nature needs a little rain to color. Who knows? You may have gotten enough! Time will tell!
I look forward to you autumn colors!
yes indeed time will tell, I will be out looking for whatever color we get of course
I wish I could visit with your world!!!
Just beautiful, @tattoodjay !

It's not nice getting bitten by those bugs...especially in the face...
I like those wooden trails at certain places being shown in your photos.
Thank you for sharing your walk with us!
Ohh no its not fun at all
yes i love when the trails have those wood paths built in here and there
😊👍
The pictures came out wonderful and the day sunny. That looks like a great place to take an adventure walk, I would definitely have strong high knee boots to maneuver through the grassy areas. The pictures with the path through the trees are my favorite. Anyways, thank you for sharing and keep enjoying your week :}
Thanks I did enjoy this spot, bootds would have been a good idea my shoes got soaked through that day LOL
That's the green I need in here. I wish I could take a walk out there.
Thanks for #wednesday_walk and your support :) :)
Have a good day.
It was so nice to see some green so much here is still very dry and brown
Fields brimming full of flowers, tall grasses (pretty high) to wander through, check for ticks !LOLZ
Wooded area always delightful to wonder through, well maintained with boarding used where boggy conditions occur saving both the walkers shoes and the land.
