The above is my latest creation entitled 'Wood'. It began as a sheet of paper glued to scrap cardboard I cut from a box.
I used bright orange house primer paint to cover most of the white paper, leaving a few streaks.
I went onto the internet for an inspiration picture that aligned with the streaks on the paper - it was sunset shining through a wood.
Using several layers of leftover oils and acrylics from an old art box, I put layers of colour on the paper for the foreground, the main tree, and some background trees, as well as the light.
I then shot an image using my phone while deliberately getting some reflection from the sunlight. I brought that into GIMP.
I obtained several other photographs and used them as textures, doing colour selection and then inverting and deleting most of the texture and just leaving it to replace one colour.
Some of these texture images are below.
Finally, I used saturation, blur, noise and smudge to make the image appear much more lively and bring it closer to my vision.
You can see some stages of the digital process below, starting with the original painted card.
Enjoy. Please check out this and my other works in my NFT Showroom gallery.
