how you manage to make it so long and bushy and nice an all, how long it take

Genetics, I think. I had a goatee and facial hair when I was in highschool, at the age of something like 15. I started growing the beard when I was 24 or so, and realised that shaving was a complete waste of time. I use standard conditioner and water to keep it bushy. I'm in my mid 30s now. It reached terminal length after about 6 or 7 years, and won't get any longer, it goes down to about an inch above my belly button. I'm 6 foot 2. It's a large beard. It gets stuck in car doors. (And other doors)

"Dune" isn't popular?

It's very popular if you're into science fiction and understand the way in which proper intrigue and "space opera" is done. I think it gets better each and every time terrible science fiction is released, because you can point to a piece like Dune and say "do it this way"

Did you enjoy the recent film adaptation?

Wow! Thank you for that, that's is one of my huge regret of being a woman - lack of magnificent beard to cover my soft, round, boring chin :D 6ft2, what on earth? To you brush the clouds while you walking?

"Dune" isn't popular?

What I meant is, it's not like mainstream thing.
The book is really old, and yet so 'accurate'. I absolutely love every bit of it, read that countless times, and next to the Wells's short stories is my favourite thing in sci-fi world!

I was on the edge of my set entire film :D I loved the landscapes, sound and music in general, but that is what Villeneuve does the best('Sicario' to name it the one). I am not sure about characters though. Paul was casted very well, but Jessica, Chani, and for love on Dill Monster - Duncan Idaho - horrible. I loved Brolin, Skarsgård and Bardem - but I have soft spot for them in general, I do not think my assessment can be objective here :)

Loved the take on navigators, Sardaukars. Nearly all costumes were beautiful (excluding Reverend Mother Mohiam, that was complete misunderstanding). I loved the design of the ships, and the base on Arrakis look great. They did marvels job incorporating neo brutalist architecture style, it fits perfectly there.

Crude, cold interiors, simple, monumental volumes, dark halls with high ceilings.

So... I just have too strong feelings about the books, to just say I liked it or not:)
I will go see the next movie, that's for sure.

How about you?

brush the clouds while you walking?

No, just to help my wife get things from the high shelves.

Dune Stuff

I will definitely see the next film, of course. My city has a bit of Brutalist architecture, but only from the outside; and only a few government buildings. The way the sense of scale was done in the Dune film was really riveting stuff.

Villeneuve

ARRIVAL. What a fucking fantastic film! I was glad you mentioned the director. When I heard he was behind the new Dune film, I knew it would be at least decent. So I hope you've seen Arrival. It is bloody brilliant. Hard to think of better more recent science fiction film, in my opinion.

No, just to help my wife get things from the high shelves.

Unacceptable! You should have a job that really uses the potency of your height - for example, holding the sky like a titan Atlas!

oh yeah, 100% agree here!

I love Villeneuve. He can turn simple story in something incredible. What I appreciate most about him is his ability to bring even the most complicated stories to the screen. He works with plot in such wa,y that you cannot believe someone can see stuff this way, and yet - it is the right way to see them!

I will admit I've not seen Sicaro, I might have to put that on my list. We just got a new TV, and its replenished my love for film. I wish I wasn't photographing another wedding this weekend to just be a couch potato and watch a few good films.

Have you seen a film from 2009, Nr Nobody?

Sicario is absolutely amazing! You simply must see it! It is heavy one though, just so you know.

couch potato

I would love to do stuff like that, but I simply can't. I can manage to sit in movie theatre for several hours, but watching movies at home - can take like 20 minutes at time :D I just have to move around 😂

Nr Nobody

I saw it a long time ago, so I don't remember the film in details, but I liked the concept of it, the setting and visuals. And I liked Jared Leto, even though I'm not a big fan of his acting (I have to take Dallas Buyers Club out of it - he was fantastic there!)
Did you?

Not a fan of any actor really, don't have any favourites. I'm more into writers and directors, people that conceptualise the magic.

Regarding actors, some people are good for some roles, others good for others. I like it when actors are pushed out of their traditional roles.

Haven't seen Dallas Buyer's Club and don't really want to. There's more movies released on planet Earth than I could possibly ever watch anyway.

I am half in half - I recognize the talent of actors, but always looking up who was writing and direct the movie(and produce, depend on the budget)

I've seen Dallas Buyer's Club by pure chance, really, visiting my friend, but actually liked it. Apart from super-hero films I don't really dig big Hollywood films recently at all. In fact even super hero films went into gutter lately, so yeah.. Hard to find something... you know - fresh, revealing :)
