RE: I finally did some animating..

You can get Eevee to look as good as Cycles (at least in some respects) but it will bump your render time. I love Eevee because it's SO DAMN FAST but for the stuff I like doing, finals are always going to be in Cycles (it does light a hell of a lot better and also hair though that may change if the principled hair shader now works in Eevee, I haven't checked that yet).

I don't like working with sound much XD Your sounds weren't bad, and they did add a lot to the scene. The little robot is very cute :)

One of the main things I was thinking about doing was (because right now I have one model and a bunch of empties deforming the mesh with the hook modifier) to split up the robot into separate objects, because as far as I know emission materials in EEVEE only affect other objects so with that I would already get loads of the realism I get with Cycles right now. If you have other recommendations on how to get EEVEE look better I'd be glad to take some of your advice. (also I'm running low on resource creds so if you want you can text me on BitMessage BM-2cTxr8gCpfctpQcUR4qiCFe5UpdoWj9hMi)

Ye used to be the same with sound for me and I usually just try out every effect til it sounds kinda real which really adds a lot realism. Thanks that was what I was aiming for :)

D: well I suppose that's one way to animate XD I've only tried to see if hooks would work as a primary rather than secondary modifier for clothes and it ended badly XD

I'm not going to be much help to you unfortunately as I only know Eevee can look great because I've seen other people's great Eevee renders ^_^; I only did some tweaking here and there before realising just how long it was going to take to get hair to look good in Eevee (as at the time I tested it couldn't read the hair bsdf node, I'll find out when I finish the character I'm currently working on if that's changed since last minor version) and also being a realtime renderer Eevee doesn't seem to bounce light as accurately yet so getting reflections and transparency to look good might take a bit of extra work.
