You're such a great study in how to do skin toning XP
I spend way too much time trying to figure out how you use colour
This reminds me @fermentedphil was asking for advice on drawing hands on a piece they did with hands.
I find hands really hard but I don't know whether it's because of how they articulate or whether it's because of what I remember someone saying before about how hands and faces are the hardest things to get to look right/good because they're the things we tend to look at the most. And you can read so much into a hand pose too XD

The easiest starting point for skin tones is keep your palette to a minimum. Have a look at my Zorn Palette post again. This limited selection is a good starting point for skin tones. But there's a few other things that come into play, the most important being desaturation.

So does AI software it would seem. 😀

To an extent, this correct. Anyone, even if they can't draw and paint, are experts on how such features should look, because we look at them each day.
However, if you learn the fundamental skill of accurate observation, "seeing", it does not matter what the subject is, a face, hands, figure, flowers, animals, landscapes, ect. you will be able to render them faithfully from a reference.
Drawing purely from imagination is another thing again, and requires even more practice.
I am glad that I am not the only one struggling with them! 😅
