Here are a few architecture mandalas I created based on interesting architectural shapes I photographed.
Architectural shapes can often spark some interesting ideas, so I usually photograph building quite often for sketching ideas later.
The first mandala shape is based off a couple buildings in Chicago nicknamed the corn cobs aka the Marina City Towers Condos. My sketching ended up creating an interesting star shape, or maybe it is some kind of space mine that sticks to ships that pass it by...
This is the original photograph of the Marina City Condos that the composition is based on.
This mandala is based off a photo of the Wrigley building where I used to work. It turned into a spherical robot eye of some kind...
This is the original photo of the Wrigley building. The slightly pinkish sky ended up coloring the composition quite a bit in its final form. The pink light came from a city theme where all the buildings changed their lights to pink to bring awareness to breast cancer.
This composition kind of reminds me of some sort of microchip. Perhaps it is part of the latest high speed graphics card that will power the metaverse...
This is the original photo the composition is based on. The building is the Merchandise Mart in Chicago during the dead of winter when the river froze over. I froze my hands to the bone taking this photo lol.
Here is some kind of teleportation chamber. It even has an up and down arrow to press depending on whether or not you want to go to heaven or hell lol.
This is the original photo that the teleportation chamber is based on. This is just a lighting sconce in the Milwaukee Art Museum. This building is full of strange abstract shapes like this and will probably be the basis for many more of these types of collages.
That's all for now thanks for looking at my mandalas :-)
looks like a perfect picture
Thanks :-)
oh man...i can't make this up; I already had Jung's book on Mandalas in my cart when I put that order in for the mushroom mix, lol - synchro alert!!
Ha, now you definitely need to get the mandala book, plus Jung is totally worth it.
Wow, this looks very beautiful, I really enjoy it, friend, hope you are always healthy, friend...
Thanks, you never know what an old photo might turn into.

Thanks :-) These mandalas are a fun way to relax then it gets you to think differently about framing photos out in the field.
Beautiful transformations! Amazing how different the feeling is from the original photo to the mandala!
The results can be very dramatically different. It's a fun exercise to keep the creativity flowing.
Definitely! Fun and beautiful :)
