Wow, I just looked that up, and what a story.

I didn't know it stemmed from that, but in my mind it was more of a philosophical thing like "The Division Bell" from Pink Floyd, et al; like the seperation of life from death, etc.

Oh yeah, it is tough one. Plus original name was Warsaw(capital of Poland), but the producer told them to change. So the change, and thankfully the producer didn't had thorough knowledge from WW2 🙃

Nor did these VW marketing people.

I completely forgot about this one. What a masterpiece of an empty mind!

Yet at the same time, it is beautiful. I wonder with all the people on staff and all the internal reviews it must've gone through for there to be such weaponised incompetence (or... malice) in the company to see that ad "go to air".

I worked in a large clothing corporation for few years and you would not believe the level of incompetence of the various departments. But that only one aspect of the problem.

The real reason why stuff like this happen. is because these projects are shown at meetings which everyone has to attend, but no real participation is required.

You are expected to sit there and listen. And if the topic is boring, or it's your 8th meeting of the day - you shut up and try to counteract the breakdown of your psyche. As a result - you do not listen.

Then the CEO/director/manager asks the question - Everyone is excited and hopeful about this?

< zombie voices > Yeahhhh....
