Autumn is the season of harvest. There are so many delicious foods to enjoy, but the first thing that comes to my mind is roasted sweet potatoes.
I really love roasted sweet potatoes. These days, you can buy freshly roasted sweet potatoes at supermarkets or convenience stores, which makes it so easy to enjoy them as a snack.
But... I want to eat more of them, like seriously a lot. I could eat roasted sweet potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
To satisfy my craving, I went to the market.
Buying roasted sweet potatoes at convenience stores for every meal can get pricey, so I thought it would be more cost-effective to buy a whole box of sweet potatoes at the market, roast them myself in the oven, and enjoy my homemade roasted sweet potatoes.
During peak sweet potato season, you can often find "B-grade" sweet potatoes—ones with small blemishes or that are slightly misshapen—being sold in bulk at markets. They're cheap!
Since I'll just roast them anyway, a few blemishes don't bother me at all.
Excited, I went home and immediately started making roasted sweet potatoes.
I roasted an entire box of sweet potatoes in the oven!
The baking temperature depends on the size of the potatoes, but this time, I set the oven to 220°C (428°F) without preheating and baked them for about 70–80 minutes. I think starting without preheating allows the sweet potatoes to cook slowly from the inside, bringing out their natural sweetness.
After baking, I left them in the oven to rest with the residual heat instead of taking them out right away.
Once they cooled down to a temperature where I could hold them in my hands, I took them out of the oven.
Seeing the syrupy juices oozing out made me so excited! 😆
And that's how I'm living my roasted sweet potato life.
Creamy and sticky roasted sweet potatoes are so sweet and delicious. The best! My favorite variety is Beni Haruka.
I thought I could eat roasted sweet potatoes for every meal, but after having them for breakfast and lunch, I started craving meat for dinner and skipped the sweet potatoes.
Turns out, my love for roasted sweet potatoes isn't as strong as I thought! 😅

実りの秋ですね。色々おいしい季節ですが、私がいちばんに思い浮かぶのは焼き芋です。
焼き芋大好きです。最近はスーパーやコンビニで焼きたての石焼芋が買えるので、おやつなどで手軽に食べられるので良いですよね。
でも、、私はもっとこう、、ガッツリ食べたいんですよね。1日3食焼き芋で良い。
そんな自分の欲望を叶えるため、市場に来ました。
コンビニで毎食焼き芋を買っていたらお高くついちゃうけど、市場でさつまいもを箱買いして、自分でオーブンで焼いて焼き芋にすればまあまあお得だろう、とゆう気持ちです。
さつまいもの最盛期は、ちょっと傷がついたり規格外だったりするB品が箱で出回ります。それが安い!
どうせ焼き芋にしちゃうから、ちょっとくらいの傷なんか気にならないです。
ウキウキで家に帰り、早速焼き芋を始めます。
段ボール1箱分のさつまいもをオーブンで焼きます。
焼く時の温度はサイズにもよりますが、今回は余熱なしの220度に設定して70~80分くらい焼いたと思います。余熱なしの方が、さつまいもの中にゆっくり火が入るので甘みが出るような気がします。
焼きあがったら、すぐにオーブンから出さずに余熱しながら寝かせます。
手で持てそうなくらいの温度まで下がるのを待ってオーブンから芋を取り出します。
蜜がブシュッと出てるの見てテンション爆上がりです😆笑
とゆうわけで焼き芋生活を満喫しています。
ねっとり系の焼き芋は甘くておいしいです。最高。品種は紅はるかがお気に入りです。
1日3食焼き芋で良い、、と思いましたが、朝焼き芋食べて昼も焼き芋食べたら、夜はお肉が食べたくなったので芋はパスしました。
私の焼き芋愛、たいしたことなかったです😅
