Manga recommendation: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School

in The Anime Realm4 years ago

Some time ago I made a post where I talked about Jujutsu Kaisen and how this manga could become the new mainstay of Shonen Jump, and indeed, even before the release of Jujustu Kaisen anime, this manga was already having great popularity, being one of the most important "new" manga of this last year. Moreover, thanks to its excellent anime adaptation, which is made by the animation studio MAPPA, the popularity of this great manga is increasing. Yesterday the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen anime ended, and along with that ending, the movie adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen prequel was announced.

Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School is a prequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, set shortly before the events of Jujutsu Kaisen. This manga of only 4 chapters, focuses on Yutaa Okkotsu, which is a shaman who is haunted by the ghost of a former classmate, which is why he must now go to school for shamans to end this curse. In this small, but interesting story, we will see again people already seen before in Jujutsu Kaisen, involved in a very tragic story, but also full of action.

Akatsumi Gege, author of these two stories, once again does an excellent job, as Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School is a letter of introduction to what would become her greatest work to date: Jujutsu Kaisen.

In recent chapters of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Yutaa Okkotsu appears again, which was one of the most awaited moments by the fans of this manga, since this character, besides being very important for the story, is one of the strongest in this universe. And with the news of the movie adaptation of this manga, the popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen will increase even more.
