The introspective tone of the narrative is one thing, I meant in general that creators and editors often cut off threads that lead nowhere and that can be used in the future. Or too much time is spent on a thread that could be presented better or just as well, but even shorter. Instead of devoting half a chapter to the internal struggles of the characters, it is better to shorten them to a minimum and simply focus on exposition. The story should move forward, not to tread water and occasionally move a little further. Especially since today we have much greater possibilities of mixing genres and more.
