books written by young authors are not unnecessarily elaborate.
I really agree with this because unlike before when authors usually used an introspective tone for narration, now that tone is seldom used. And instead of a character-driven story, stories now are more plot-driven and that trend reached even to the source materials of anime series. Most trending anime now focus on the progression of the plot and a lot of audiences do really dig for that stuff especially the younger ones (because most of them have limited attention span, and action is really hooking especially if the plot is fast-paced)... And yes, the range of the possible theme matchups is vast, but I'm kinda rooting for those fantasy ones (especially the supernaturals~).
The introspective tone of the narrative is one thing, I meant in general that creators and editors often cut off threads that lead nowhere and that can be used in the future. Or too much time is spent on a thread that could be presented better or just as well, but even shorter. Instead of devoting half a chapter to the internal struggles of the characters, it is better to shorten them to a minimum and simply focus on exposition. The story should move forward, not to tread water and occasionally move a little further. Especially since today we have much greater possibilities of mixing genres and more.
