Fire Force Firefighters who use Fire | Anime Review

Shonen is one of the most important genres in Japanese manga and anime, if not the most important. Dragon Ball is the number one exponent in this issue outside of Japan, today I would dare to say that most of the characters known to the most famous anime of this genre such as: Naruto, One piece, Bleach, the same Dragon Ball and many others. Currently many of them have already finished and have given way to new manga/anime that deserve to have a little more attention than they already have. This time I bring you a review about the first season of Fire Force.

Written by Atsushi Ohkubo, Fire Force is a story about a reconstructed dystopian future, where humanity managed to survive and could have a strange evolution. During this entire process, a phenomenon that they named "Spontaneous Combustion" occurs that can turn people into "infernal" creatures that used to be human before but are now bodies of burning coal that do not respond for their actions.

After the passage of many generations, one arrived who took action on the matter and they became people capable of controlling the flames of their body, resulting in each person being able to use this as some kind of super power. At a young age, the powers of our protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, are manifested, causing a fire in her house and ending the life of her mother and her younger brother; or at least that's what they want him to believe.

To fight with the infernal ones generated by Spontaneous Combustion, the Special Fire Fighting Brigade is created, firefighters who are able to control their flames and put the infernal to “rest”, and who have the objective of discovering the secrets of this phenomenon and putting an end to it. Shinra meets the first to become a hero: enter one of the multiple squads that make up the Brigade, from this point the adventure of our protagonist begins.

But as in all good shonen things can never go well for the protagonist, with the incorporation of Shinra to the Brigadier a sect that worships the sun that has as its objective a very cruel future for humanity is revealed. The sect believes that what happened with the extermination of humanity was from God and wanting the best for them, they will try to create the apocalypse and it will be the Brigade's job to stop them.

David Production endows Fire Force with a great artistic work, in the part where the animation stands out the most is when the flames make an appearance on the screen, and that is how not to do it if this is the strong plane of the anime. The dynamic, frenetic and organic animation gives place to some of the most outstanding fights of the new successors of all the greats who have already finished their careers in this world of manga/anime.

This anime has well developed characters and plot twists that will keep you more and more attentive to the story. Something that I see out of place on many occasions is fanservice, it is always the order of the day and sometimes it becomes tedious. Maybe it's a brand or a resource that the creator uses a lot, I don't know since I don't read the manga, but it made me heavy in much of the story.

Fire Force in broad strokes is a good manga/anime, with an excellent animation and soundtrack that manage to stand out above everything new that is currently in this world of entertainment.
