It has been a while since I last posted a drawing here. I'm busy with making music and film. But as I've been ill with one of those many viruses that go around, I found time to make this bleak piece.

Good to see you back, I always think we will never see you again during these breaks.
And it is good to see that you are still here when I return. Its just me sometimes going into a hermite state. I still like these odd underground networks and am just happy that I do not need to be on any of those big commercial things like Facebook and X and TikTok etc. (probably too old to TikTok anyway :)
I often have to go digging when you post something. Today I dug this up:
and
I'd feel quite unfortunate to have run across this creature of yours.
The webbing around the light is interesting, looks like sheet music in place. And what is the plaque on the vat, or well walls, around the tree? Is it a design you use elsewhere?
It was a drawing that I had already started. The woman was in front of the well and I had used some photo and AI images as layers. It didn't work so I've abandoned it. But then I wanted to see if I could save it and started doing chaotic lines making them work as cross hatching just not in any ordered way. Then I drew the the front of the well so it covered the body of the woman and suddenly it was interesting with her standing down there with the tree.
The working title them became "Odin of the southern cross" - a south american Odin lacking an eye, tied to the tree and standing in the well of Mimir. That is where the unreadble plaque is from. It was meant to have the Valknut on it, but then I reconsidered and decided to let it be that original nymph or dryad I had envisioned and let all those other ideas just be there as traces, as the thing mostly reminded me of exactly such a tree spirit as the hamadryad, with an accusing stare.
An accusing stare. That's why the creature is so unnerving.
So much goes into drawing! You put all this fascinating thought into your works, too. Then I go looking up stuff to better understand. Nice pre-coffee fare, your posts. This morning I found these:
I gotta go make some coffee. Thanks for the trip into Norse mythology. Everything I do know about it, has come to me through you.
It's always good to see new works from you. I've missed them. I hope the other work is going well. I'm still making music, but haven't come up with any new songs recently. Still having fun and I was at a pub session just last night.
There's a few bugs going around and I hope you are recovering.

You have opportunity to play live, which is cool. I am mostly in my living room recording. The place is slowly filling up with instruments. An acoustic piano and an electric piano (for midi, sampled engines and late night playing), two guitars, a bass, an alto saxophone, some flutes, a lot of percussion, microphone and other recording gear. It would be very fun to have some electronic drums like you, but I guess I'll have to find both money and room for it.
I've talked to my eldest daughter, who play violin and electric bass, and one of my nephews, who plays the guitar, about starting to play something together - but we have all been too busy until now. But hopefully this year we could find the time.
Playing with others is really fun. I did it with my daughter, but she moved out a while back and the rest of the family don't play. I'm lucky to have other opportunities, but that all came from me starting the pub sessions. I've got so much from that and it proves these things are possible even in a small town. There are lots of musicians around and you just have to bring them together.
I've got plenty of guitars, ukes and other stuff here, but I mostly work on the drums.
