The #weekend-engagement topics concept started in this exact way...Used to get 1200+ comments (average of about 600-700) on the post which became too difficult to handle which is why I went to the posting format I have now.
Wow thank you for the tip, I didn’t actually think of interacting with other comments within the post since I thought that would be too intrusive as the interaction was only between the author and the one that commented!
