It's been a little while since I've posted a picture of Cleo on here so figured tonight is the night I'll get it done because of two reasons which are, why not, and secondly, see the first reason.
Cleo has been a little sick lately which worries me due to her age.
She's not super old but is getting on in years; she's not that little weeks-old kitten I got back in 2011that fitted in one hand...she's just as cute though, of that there is no doubt. She has hyperthyroidism which means she'll be medicated for the rest of her life and just like the little champion she is, she takes it stoically and in her stride; me, not so much, it breaks my heart.
She's always been cuddly and snuggly with me but seems to be a little more like that lately; I wondered if it's just because she's feeling better due to the medication and the vet seemed to think it was; I'm not complaining, she gives good cuddles.
When I'm home she's constantly with me and even when I go to bed she's not far away as she jumps up on the end of the bed and snuggles close to me or sleeps on my feet all night. Cute. Come the morning she comes up onto my chest and sits there, pokes my face with a paw or cold nose, hoping to wake me up; it's a nice way to start the morning.
Cleo rules my household and it's exactly how it should be...she's such an important part of my life and I make no compromises when it comes to her care and the attention I give her. She makes me happy, makes me smile, and makes my day so much better; that seems like a good trade off for having her rule my life like she does right?

I'm glad they figured out what her issue was and that there are meds to help it.
I would say unconditional love, but not all cats are unconditional. 😄
Cats can be quite standoffish and I'm lucky that Cleo is not, and none of my cats have been actually. I'm pretty glad they found out what the issue was as it can be treated and she's responding well to the medicine. I was worried.
Cleo is beautiful and brave.
I could not manage to hold back my tears through your words, I am a fool who loves animals so much, I prefer to always be very foolish in these respects.
I have done the impossible for my pets, I will continue to do so until my death.
If there is any way to measure the love for your Cleo you would have to set the scale very high.
🌻
Pets become so important to their owners and it's only people who have pets that tend to understand the relationship. I'm lucky to have a cat like Cleo, she makes me life better.
They say that people who love their pets have better feelings.
But they are the ones who give us the most love and pamper us.
Many blessings and health to Cleo.
🌻
I get it bro...
Sammi woke me at 2 am two nights ago with the chest thing out on the road in fear of an incoming thunder storm. The storm and all the pending financial doom and gloom made it so I could not go back to sleep. So until 4 am when I had to go trucking again. I just cuddled SamSam and tried to make her feel safe. ❤️
They are good companions for many reasons and I think they know when we need them. I figured you'll agree.
Someone made a comment about eating their pets in this post, not sure if you see it. A typical comment onsiderkng where that person is from. #cunt
I seen it, considered a verbal counter attack. Decided it was not gonna change their current #CUNTINESS
So I moved on with a plan of skipping their comments and posts in the future
I will never trust someone who wishes ill will to the most awesome mystical magical creatures that we call cats. Dogs are pretty awesome too.
Yep, good plan.
Fuuuuukkk...
Rough night here at the homestead. Roof is still on the house for now. Right in the middle of it with 70-80 mph gusts.
We are right under the #4 in this screenshot.

How many times now? This is the third?
3rd in 13 months to make direct hit on us. This was the worst storm of all time to hit this area. So no structural damage is a huge plus i guess. Even tho I lost 13 of my beautiful cedar junipers that i planted from saplings in 1997-8. About 30 lop lolly pines and a huge oak uprooted right in the middle of my front yard. Another massive oak on the back corner of property also uprooted. 60 sustained with 80 mph gusts for about 3-4 hours. Just around 20 miles from here they had a 100 mph gust.
Now we go thru the days and days of generators. And cleanup.
Lota was also the boss in the house. She liked getting sunbathe in this spot.
They find all the good spots!
Posting pictures of a cat gets an automatic upvote from me haha, I love cats!
Haha, well then, we have that in common! ✅
Yes!!
I know what you feel for Cleo.... I live the same every day with Cata and Tony, in fact I have them here by my side while I write to you, they are my guardians and pure sweetness.
Cleo is precious and takes care of you always and always will. She is medicated and under control... she will be fine.
Thank you for bringing her here, I love to see her!
She's a good cat, runs my household, everything revolves around her.
I know what you mean! They are the kings!
Very prety Cleo 🥰. The trade off seems to me...more than good.
Best of health to her and may she continue to brighten your life for a long time to come. Regards.
I hope you're right and Cleo is around for a long time; that'll make me very happy.
Meow... What a tenderness that awakening. Yes, Cleo is the best boss, so cool, loving and grateful. I understand how you feel.
She's pretty cool, way cooler than her owner. 😊
I wish Cleo health. Pets are cozy in the house.
Yeah, I think a household with a pet in it is a happier household.
I hope she is getting better. Being woken up by cats are the best. I remember staying at a relative's house, and their black cat Mo would be kneading/massaging my chest, maybe trying to wake me up.
Cats can be aloof but when they're snuggly ones they're often very snuggly. That's what Cleo is like.
I shall keep my opinions on cats to myself and delight in Cleo making you smile and um, eh, sleeping on your bed. What a joy!
You don't need to pretend to like cats for my sake...I mean some fucken dick head talked about eating cats on a comment in this post. We all have our likes and dislikes, no need hiding them...I'd like to shoot that cunt who made that comment about eating cats right in the fucken face...it's all just personal opinion right?
I don't think the comment was meant to be nasty. Different cultures, different mores, which is why I'm more comfortable among my own kind. I could never pretend to like moggies, but I am pleased she makes you happy.
Nah, mine wasn't either, just an opinion.
Hi Galen, I hope Cleo is better or in better health as I write this. I haven't had a pet with me for years, the last one was a cat named Calvin. I came to an agreement with Calvin, when he meowed I had to open the terrace door or scratch his head or just listen to him, if he lay on his belly I touched his belly, if he climbed on my knees I had to be petting him and, of course, stay still so as not to disturb him.
In this contract, I am not very clear what Calvin's obligations were, he even peed on my vinyl records, what I am clear about is that this contract was very favorable for me.
Cats are very special beings.
Have a great weekend and may Cleo recover soon.
It sounds like Calvin was very special to you and that's no uncommon with cats and their humans. They can be mischievous but it's often overlooked because they're so damned cute!
Calvin was a very special being, who I believe adopted me. 😁
Greetings to Cleo.
Cleo is gorgeous and she obviously knows who butters her bread 😍. That is a beautiful way to wake up, slowly and softly.
She's a big cutie, makes me happy, and I like her more than most humans. Says it all really.
How nice to see a pic of Chloe. It has, indeed, been quite a while. But then again that could have been me since I seem to miss posts here and there. It's good to hear that she is doing well with her medication and additional cat snuggles are always a bonus.
I remember when all those years ago my cat would do exactly the same. Early morning she'd be on my chest glaring at me with her big blue eyes, pawing and nudging me get up, hoomaan, I want my food - LOL - I miss her...
I could post about Cleo every day but don't because people would get annoyed I think. Some get annoyed with me enough without me adding to it.
And here I thought you don't really care about if people get annoyed with you/your posts - hahaha - learn something new every day.
Well, I don't really if I'm honest, most people are fucken assholes, but I don't really like telling them that all the time despite thinking it. I had a fucken asshole comment recently on one of my posts, just a dumbass comment based on nothing but his own feelings of entitlement, and I thought yep, fucken asshole.
I usually read through (most) comments on your posts - they give interesting perspectives, but I don't remember this one. Then again, I missed a few posts. But, yeah, entitlement these days is crazy common in many or all areas, had a discussion, no quite a few discussions with my boss about that as well. So many employees feel a lot of entitlement - anyway, I'll stop here, not going to derail this any further...
Isn't it getting late in Oz? Oof - it's the middle of the night, so I guess you're having trouble sleeping again, sorry to hear it. But it boosts your productivity on here 😁. Right, I'll show myself out now. Have a good night!
Yeah, it's almost 3am...not sleeping well.
Very cute. It's always a bit sad to see them get older and start having issues like that. I used to love the weekends when our dog would sleep at the end of the bed and then move closer up towards us and cuddle for a while before we finally got up. In her later years she wasn't even able to get up on the bed. I really miss that.
Having pets is one of life's most happy things to do...but there's always a downside. I'll accept that though, for a chance to enjoy all the happy times.
She is gorgeous, brave taking her medicine.
Pets are so very much part of our lives, very sad they are shorter lived than we are.
White creeping into Woody's coat and signs of aging always alerts one, another who loves a snuggle in the mornings. Cold night a full nights cuddle!

They have a way of becoming so important to us, speaking for myself of course, because it seems some people eat their pets, based on a comment in this post.
Cats I stopped having as pets long before I moved to the coast over 40 years ago, they taste like rabbit I have been told. No money for food, or traditional beliefs attached where it's not frowned upon one has to accept the inevitable.
You've looked after her so well. She's precious man.
If there were real genie wishes, then I would wish for our house cats to be immortal. Instead of having new ones through our lives. I would just keep the ones I have/have lost.
It su ks that they have to due, but like all things it's the way it goes; you and I will too, everyone we know...it's just that way of it. I think that's a good reason to live better every day and value those we care about.
100%. I cannot agree more. Live every day with the goal of living a full life.
When we go, it should be with gladness and fondness and no sour, bitter or unpleasant feelings with those we love.
Yep, that's what capturing the essence of life is all about.
Such a beautiful baby!🐱
She is for sure. 😏
You must really love Cleo. The way you guys across African borders value animals isn't the way we do here. If it was in my place, from 2021 till now, she would have been considered for meat
They're eating the dawgs, they're eating the cats, they're eating the pets.........🙃
We lock our pets up, you are right, dogs, cats, monkeys go missing here all too often.
Massive sweeping for traps throughout our green areas for snares trying to save small buck, porcupine, dogs and cats. Even witnessed an An African rock python hunted by men with dogs in the cane fields here, one mans pride another's horror.... Sad but true!
It sounds like a fucked up place.
Not as bad as the thought of stripping the world of insects, kowtowing to fucked up ideas out there already?
