to the most beautiful and fullest fantasy
that my ardent poetry can reach,
when I write in vain this fecund song.
I love thee in the calm of each new day,
with the sun and the faint light of agony.
I love you in freedom, as one aspires to harmony,
I love you in purity, as one reaches for joy.
I love you with the passion I once longed for
in my old laments, with my faith of being.
I love you with the hope I thought I'd lost,
when my sad dreams faded away.
But today they are reborn in you, my beloved maiden,
as I love you in these verses that my soul flashes.
