In the depths of the forest resides a unique being, created from the breath of the plants and the whispers of the animals. Hasban is a creature as unique as its origin, living a quiet, simple life with one goal: to care for the forest that gave it life. From its hair, branches grow and serve as a shelter for small creatures on rainy days. Hasban walks slowly, observing everything, and although its large size and bulky build might suggest it weighs hundreds of pounds, it barely leaves a trace on the ground, and wildflowers grow in its wake.
Many humans claim to have seen Hasban on various occasions, but always for only a few seconds and with movements so swift that they make it impossible to photograph. Often described as a tranquil creature, others say it has attacked hunters who have harmed any creature under its protection.
I remember the first time I saw it; I was just a child who enjoyed getting lost in the forest on the outskirts of the city. After walking and chasing animals for a long time, I had lost my way, and the trees seemed like an endless maze. It was almost nightfall when I crouched down, burying my face in my hands, and began to cry. After a while, I saw that gigantic figure before me, and terror overcame me, thinking it was the end. But contrary to my fears, it appeared gentle and serene, like a fallen bird from its nest. It kept a distance of a few meters from me and guided me slowly out of the forest to the place where the river is crossed by a bridge leading to the main road of the city. I wouldn't see it again until many years later, when with several decades behind me, I was walking in the forest with my son. It was just for a few seconds, but I knew it was Hasban, and I saw the trail of small wildflowers.
En lo profundo del bosque habita un ser único, creado con la respiración de las plantas y el susurro de los animales. Hasban es una criatura tan única como su origen, vive una vida tranquila, simple, sin complicaciones con un único objetivo, cuidar del bosque que le dio origen. De su pelo las ramas crecen y le sirven de refugio a las pequeñas criaturas en los días de lluvia. Hasban camina lento observándolo todo, y aunque por su gran tamaño y constitución voluminosa pareciera pesar cientos de libras, apenas deja rastro en el suelo y tras sus pies crecen las flores silvestres.
Muchos humanos aseguran haber visto a Hasban en distintas ocasiones, pero siempre por algunos segundos y con movimientos ligeros que lo hacen imposible de fotografiar. A menudo se le describe como una criatura tranquila, pero otros cuentan que ha atacado a cazadores que le han hecho daño a alguna criatura que esté bajo su protección.
Recuerdo la vez que lo vi por primera vez, era apenas un niño y disfrutaba de perderme en el bosque a las afueras de la ciudad. De tanto caminar y perseguir animales me había perdido, y ante mí los árboles parecían un laberinto sin salida. Ya estaba a punto de caer la noche cuando me agaché y con la cara entre las manos comencé a llorar. Al cabo de un rato vi esa figura gigantesca frente a mí, y el terror me invadió, creía que sería mi fin, pero todo lo contrario a mis ideas, se mostró manso y sereno como un ave caída del nido, manteniendo una distancia de unos metros de mí me guio poco a poco hasta las afueras del bosque en ese lugar donde el río es cruzado por un puente que da lugar a la carretera principal de la ciudad. No lo vería más hasta mucho tiempo después, cuando ya con varias décadas a mis espaldas paseaba con mi hijo en el bosque. Fue apenas por unos segundos pero supe que era él, y pude ver el rastro de pequeñas flores silvestres.
