Five Minute Freewrite: Physical Energy

Jones has been way from home for the past decade. He left she shores of his village to look for greener pastures in the city. Now a made man, Jones decided to visit home. His aged mother has been waiting to see him after all these whole long years.

Jones set out in the morning. It will take him about twelve hours to get to his hometown. Fortunately for him he has his car ready for the long journey.

Few days to the journey however Jones took the car to his mechanic for maintenance. He knows it will be a long journey so he needs the car to be in the best of conditions before he will hit the road.

He was happy that his mechanic did a nice servicing of the car. The headlamps, brakes and all that were put in their right condition. In the wee hours of the morning, Jones set out for his journey to his home.

He was happy with the road condition. The present government has made sure that the highways are safe. All the dangerous and failed portions of the roads have been fixed. Jones rode like a king.

However, just few metres to the road that leads to his village, the journey turned sour for Jones. He mistakenly bumped into a ditch! Thank God he was wearing his seatbelt. He unbuttoned and stepped down.

He must get out the car from there otherwise he won't get to his village the time he had planned to arrive there. He kept jacking up the car from that angle, all alone. His neatly ironed white satin shirt got soaked with perspiration. That shows the amount of physical energy he has exerted so far to pull off the car from the ditch with no meaningful result anyway.

Luckily for him a group of young boys returning from the school football field was passing by. They saw him labouring in vain to jack off his car and the decided to help him out.

With their collective efforts the car was finally jacked up and Jones drove it out of the ditch. He thanked them for their timely support and they went their way. Jones then rode slowly into his village to the arousing welcome of his family.
