John placed the bag of banana on the bike's tank and it leaned heavily on his left arm.
"Don't you think I take another bike while to tie the loads to the back. I think that will be more secured than carrying me and the loads" Ene offered.
"Don't worry, the village is not that far. I can manage it. This is not my first time" John said.
Ene was not convinced but she reluctantly hopped onto the bike tightly sandwiched between John and the box of clothes tighted on the back carrier. This act is very common among commercial motorcyclists in Nigeria
500 meters to the entrance of the village, as John was negotiating a turn, the bag of banana tilted heavily to the left and the shear weight of it made him loose his grip on the handle and down they came, falling down heavily on the dusty road.
Ene got up, dusted herself and was fine except for minor bruisedls on her elbow and left knee. She looked at John was had a deep cut on his thigh.
"I told you to get another bike but you were stubborn. Serves you right. Next time, you will think about your saftey first before your strength"
