False advertising

Have you ever been walking across the street market and heard the sellers calling out to people to come and buy their goods at a particular price and then you were drawn to check out the goods because of the price which of course is usually very cheap and affordable.

On getting to the traders bus stop, you judiciously start selecting the clothes or items you love amongst all and within you, you are so excited and when you are done with your selection, you quickly make a mental calculation of your charge and how much you are meant to pay only to be told a different figure.

Well, fisrt you will get shocked and then ask the seller but I thought you said it’s for this amount and then they would switch to the cursing mode and start cursing out your life, On how you are a thief and wants to steal from them. They start asking questions like how do you intend to buy this stuff at this particular price when you know the situation of the economy.

With a shocked face and a bewildered look you would ask them, why then did you say it was for so so and so price? That’s the problem of false advertising and the mance is everywhere. In some jurisdictions false advertisements is punishable by law with jail terms.

The scenario I described above has happened to me a couple of times that I’ve learnt my lessons. The last one was three months ago when I was passing in the market and the seller was calling out the prices of the goods and people gathered around him making selections.

I decided to have a sneak peak. I saw that the goods were somewhat ok and While I stood observing those who were buying to see if it was really going for that price. Initially, I had told myself that those clothes cannot be going for this price in this economy.

Then one of the ladies wanted to pay after selecting the ones she wanted, the guy now told her the actual prize for one which was exactly times ten of what he was calling. Hahahah. The lady was in shock while I shook my head and went off. He seller was raining curses on the buyers for being greedy on wanting to buy those commodities as that awkward price. But who is to blame?

No wonder it’s said that if it’s too good to be true, then it’s definitely not true. Say no to false advertising.

Yikes, that wouldn't be nice. The seller might think he is smart, but he is shooing away buyers.

Exactly
I don’t even know why they don’t use their brains
You will have more people coming and Leaving than buying and in the end they will say their village people are against their business 🤣🤣
